According to recent reports from multiple outlets, Disney, one of the foremost brands in the entertainment field for decades, has been hacked, with as much as 1.1 TB of data compromised. The news comes after a group, Nullbulge, claimed to have gained access to this huge amount of data.

This leaked data is from the studio's internal Slack workplace collaboration system. This data comprises, but is not limited to ad campaigns, studio technology, and interview candidates, as per reports. The hacking group reportedly published this data through thousands of Slack channels, with the material now online.

The group has also claimed to have released over 1 TB of data from Disney. Since this revelation, various social media queries, including "Disney hack Reddit," have been trending all over the internet. This hack echoes the events that transpired with Rockstar Games and Insomniac, with the former losing as much as $5 million when the data leak occurred.

What Disney's massive hack could mean for the company

Data hacks have always been a huge obstacle in the digital age. This time, Disney became the latest victim of hackers, who allegedly stole 1.1 TB of data from the studio, which includes substantial information about the company's future projects and plans. This also extends to data related to Marvel and Lucasfilm, both of which are under the studio now.

The hack could lead to great losses for the company, especially if things from the stolen data are leaked online. For Rockstar, the group that hacked them released over 90 videos from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, causing massive losses to the company.

If the plans of the studio are released, especially pertaining to franchise-based shows and films, it could also make them lose out on the element of surprise in their future slates.

Netizens react to the hack

The hack may have caused a lot of agitation amidst the company, which has not responded to the matter yet, but it has not stopped amusing netizens around the world.

One user, for instance, wrote on X:

"If you're gonna hack disney the least you can do is... leak sh*t?"

"Oh boy. The A4 leaks are really starting. The Disney ninjas are going to have their work cut out for them with the takedowns."- another user wrote.
"Seems D1sney employees were betting on box office numbers from last year💀"- yet another user added.

While the online reactions may be hilarious to look at, the company has a serious issue to look into.
