Dave Filoni’s Star Wars: Ahsoka for Disney+, premiered its first season on August 22, 2023. Ahsoka Season 2 is underway as confirmed once again by Dawson, who stars as the titular character in the series. She told several media houses about her conversation with creator Dave Filoni and said -
"He (Filoni) told me a lot of other details that you would find very juicy that I cannot repeat, but I was totally tantalized to hear."
The show is a part of the Star Wars franchise and revolves around former Jedi Ahsoka Teni. After analyzing the first season's viewership, fandom's reaction, and ratings, David Filoni confirmed in January 2024 that a second season is in the books.
The show primarily revolves around Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi knight. After the Galactic Empire falls, Tano investigates an upcoming threat to a galaxy, which is in danger. The show stars Rosario Dawson, David Tennant, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo among many others.
Recently at FanExpo Boston, Rosario Dawson, who plays the titular character in the show, has revealed that the show's second season is still under wraps as David Filoni has confirmed no dates for the second season.
Everything we know about Ahsoka season 2
In January 2024, Lucas Films announced Ahsoka will return for its second season and will be helmed by Dave Filoni once again.
"The Mandalorian & Grogu will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.”
Season one of the show ended on a cliffhanger, leaving many fans wanting a second season. The last episode titled "The Jedi, The Witch and The Warlord" ended with Ahsoka finally defeating Morgan. Meanwhile, Thrawn retreats and his ship damages Ahsoka’s ship, with Ezra being left behind.
As Thrawn’s ship is moments away from launching into orbit in the last moments of the season finale, Sabine pushes Ezra onto the ship, and Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang are now stranded on planet Peridea.
When Rosario Dawson was asked about when Ahsoka season 2 would start filming, she expressed her disappointment because of the delay and talked about her conversation with Filoni, who gave Dawson details about season two but didn't reveal a date.
"You know what's so messed up about that, that's the question I asked him the most, and that's the thing he's not been forthcoming about. He told me a lot of other details that you would find very juicy that I cannot repeat, but I was totally tantalized to hear..."
She continued,
"He's saying all this stuff and there was this security guard not that far from us, and I was like, 'if he can read lips, we're in trouble.' But I can tell you, I asked a million times when we were gonna be shooting and suddenly that was the one thing he didn't hear."
While Ahsoka season 2 is confirmed, there is no other information about the cast and release date for season 2. The first season of Ahsoka is available for streaming on Disney+.
