Shannen Doherty, who starred as Prudence, one of the Halliwell sisters in the long-running series Charmed, died at the age of 53 on Saturday, July 13. Her castmates remembered her as an actress, friend, and co-star.

Jason Priestley reacted to the actress's death online. He shared a throwback photo of their characters in the Primetime Emmy-nominated series, writing in an Instagram tribute to Shannen Doherty:

"Shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Shannen. She was a force of nature and I will miss her. Sending love and light to her family in this dark time."

Priestley starred in Beverly Hills, 90210 as Brandon Walsh, the twin brother to Doherty's Brenda Walsh.

Charmed star Alyssa Milano also shared a statement addressing the death of her fictional sister from the TV show. She candidly spoke about their "complicated" relationship but acknowledged the late actress as "talented" and "beloved by many." As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Milano said about her former costar:

"It's no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at its core was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of. She was a talented actress, beloved by many, and the world is less without her. My condolences to all who loved her."

More co-stars and friends pay tribute to Shannen Doherty after her passing

Shannen Doherty's previous co-stars and industry friends took to social media to share their memories of the actress in the wake of her untimely passing.

Brian Krauss, who worked alongside Doherty in the Charmed series, reflected on the strength the actress had shown in a heartfelt post on Instagram.

He wrote alongside a throwback photo of the actress from the WB series:

"You showed me what strength is. You taught me to be fearless and live with purpose. To know your value and stick to your determinations. Forever loved! Truly heartbroken."

Another co-star who paid tribute to the late actress is Gabrielle Carteris, who worked with Doherty in Beverly Hills, 90210. She wrote in an Instagram post alongside a photo of the sky:

"So young—so sad. May you RIP Shannon. I know Luke is there with open arms to love you."

Carteris referred to their late costar, Luke Perry, who played Dylan McKay and Doherty's love interest in the series. Perry died in 2019 following a stroke.

Their other castmate, Jennie Garth, also shared throwback photos with Doherty alongside an emotional message acknowledging the late actress's best qualities, calling her "courageous, passionate, determined, and very loving and generous."

Another Beverly Hills, 90210 costar, Brian Austin Green, posted a tribute to Shannen Doherty on Instagram, calling her his "sister" who "loved me through everything." He also acknowledged the late actress as a "big part" of his understanding of love.
