As tensions escalated in Congress this week between Nancy Mace and Jasmine Crockett, the fiasco was even raised in the recent The View episode, where the hosts criticized Mace for her exchange with Crockett. As Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin expressed their views on the issue, Joy Behar claimed that Nancy Mace “just wants to be on TV.”
She said:
“She’s very interested in being on television. I’ll just say this one thing. According to FEC Filing, she spend a $165,000 for the sole purpose of getting on television, last campaign season. She just wants to be on TV. Nancy, come on this show.”
For the unversed, the hosts of the show discussed the heated argument between Crockett and Mace on the subject of civil and transgender rights. During the spat, Nancy Mace even challenged Jasmine Crockett to meet her “outside,” which left even the rest of the members of the congress shocked.
The same happened after Crockett called her a “child,” as the two argued about banning transgender women from using the female facilities. Jasmine Crockett said:
“I can see that somebody’s campaign coffers really are struggling right now. So she’s gonna keep saying trans, trans, trans, so that people will feel threatened. And child, listen.”
Statements from The View co-hosts explored as Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin discuss Nancy Mace’s comments
After Nancy’s meltdown in Congress this week, her words and behavior became the subject on the recent episode of The View, as the hosts bashed her for her anti-trans thoughts and her slamming Jasmine. Whoopi Goldberg expressed her frustration and said:
"I don't know whether she doesn't realize that when we're talking to people, I say, 'Look, girl, chile,' whatever. She has a difficult time recognizing that. But, I don't understand why she's so concerned about trans athletes and not concerned about the price of groceries, that’s all I heard."
She continued:
"People kept saying that we are concerned about the price of the groceries. Well, Nancy, this is where you could shine, in a way we have not seen you shining before.”
Thereafter, Sara Haines spoke about how Nancy reacted when Jasmine called her a child, as she pointed out Nancy’s earrings of big crosses and joked about how “this was not something Jesus would do in this situation.
The women on the show reiterated that when Crockett called Nancy Mace “a child,” she was speaking “colloquially” and did not mean what she said.” Host Alyssa Farah Griffin also opined how she initially had “high hopes” for Mace when she was first elected, as she expressed:
"She became this very different figure, sort of like an aspiring influencer, celebrity type. And I just feel like there's a reason so many people tune out politics and just throw up their hands, because it looks like a clown show! It looks like it's more about some moment to get on TV, and to get talked about…"
While Nancy Mace’s meltdown continues to remain in the headlines, the United States representative has not yet spoken up on comments of the hosts of The View.
