Superman & Lois season 4 is set to return to the small screens on Monday, October 7, 2024, on The CW Network at 8 pm Eastern Time. The upcoming outing will be the final season of the show, and it will be loosely adapting the Death of Superman storyline from the comics where Superman ends up dying in his battle with Doomsday.
Given that season 3 ended with Superman fighting Doomsday, the trailers for Superman & Lois season 4 have teased that Superman will die in the opening moments of the first episode. Alongside that, it has also teased that the Kents will have to deal with their own troubles in the absence of Clark, while Lex Luthor has plans of his own.
Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch will be returning to portray Superman and Lois this season alongside the actors for Jonathan, Jordan, and Lex Luthor. However, with the season having gone through budget cuts, some actors from the previous season won't be returning to portray their characters in the series or will have a shorter role.

Tyler Hoechlin as Superman
Actor Tyler Hoechlin will be returning to portray the Man of Steel in the final season of Superman & Lois season 4. While it is confirmed that Superman will be dying in the opening moments of the show, Hoechlin is still being billed as a season regular and fans will probably get to see him return by the end of the two-episode premiere on Monday, or at least in the episode after it.
Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane
Bitsie Tulloch's Lois Lane will be returning one final time for Superman & Lois season 4 as well. In the trailer of the show, Lois Lane can be seen trying to deal with Jonathan and Jordan as they try to cope with Clark's death - however, her role in this season remains to be seen as not much is revealed about her as of yet.
Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent
Alex Garfin will return to play Jordan Kent in Superman & Lois season 4. In the trailer for the upcoming season, Jordan can be seen trying to use his powers for good in the absence of his father and also standing up to Lex Luthor, but the trailer also showcases him not being able to live up to the Superman name and also getting some pushback from Lois.
Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent
Michael Bishop steps into the shoes of Jonathan Kent one final time. Playing the brother of Jordan, the trailers for Superman & Lois season 4 promise to explore the dynamic behind the two brothers even further. However, not much is known about his role this season.
Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor
Making a brief appearance first in the third season of the show, Michael Cudlitz will now return to play Lex Luthor and be the primary antagonist of the upcoming season. In the trailer, Cudlitz's Lex Luthor can be seen donning the Steel armor and even having a confrontation with Jordan. However, it looks like Luthor might be going after revenge here.
What is exacting revenge for remains to be seen, but him donning the Steel armor surely doesn't spell good for Smallville.
