John Schneider, the actor who played Bo Duke in the action comedy series The Dukes of Hazzard, has tied the knot with Emmy-winning TV host Dee Dee Sorvino after both stars lost their spouses in the last two years.
The actor shared the wedding news in a post on his Facebook page, saying that they got hitched in Las Vegas on Tuesday, July 23. The post reads:
"Big news big news everybody! Dee Dee and I got hitched last in Vegas!"
The Grammy-winning actor also gushed about the "happiness" that he thought would be impossible for him to feel again and thanked everyone who have been "riding shotgun" with him for the last year or so. He further wrote:
"Those of you who've been riding shotgun with me this last year and a half to so can understand that I never dreamed that happiness would be possible again. I'm here to tell you that you are stronger than you think!"
Schneider, without naming names, also mentioned the people who have "gone on ahead" who helped them "do the right things" and give them the occasional nudge and "kick in the butt."
He also admitted in the post that he never thought he would find himself laughing again, but now, he can "laugh all the time."
He also mentioned his wife, Dee Dee, expressing his love for the "crazy dame at the end of the bar." John Schneider concluded his post by thanking Paul and Alicia, referencing Dee Dee and his late spouses.
The TV personality's former husband, Goodfellas actor Paul Sorvino, passed away due to natural causes in July 2022. They were married for eight years before he died.
On the other hand, Schneider's longtime girlfriend Alicia Allain, whom he married in 2019, passed away from breast cancer in February 2023.
John Schneider and Dee Dee Sorvino will have an official wedding celebration at The Hollywood Museum in August
Following their surprise Las Vegas nuptials, John Schneider and Dee Dee will also have an official wedding celebration somewhere that is special for the couple—the place where they "met in person for the first time."
According to the press release that also shared their Las Vegas wedding, which featured getting married in the back of a white convertible that Usher previously owned, their official wedding celebration will be in the Hollywood Museum, which will reportedly be on August 1.
The president and founder of the museum, which is located at the Historic Max Factor Building in Hollywood, California, Donelle Dadigan shares that they are happy to host the celebration.
She said:
"Since John and Dee Dee met in person for the first time at The Hollywood Museum, I felt it would be appropriate that we host their official wedding celebration, we are looking forward to celebrating Dee Dee & John, and their love for each other."
John Schneider famously called his relationship with Dee Dee a "miracle" when he first announced that they were dating. He explained during an appearance on Grace Begins, The Podcast in May that "God sent a widower to a widow and a widow to a widower who [gets] it."
