Recap of The Penguin episode 4

Episode 4 of The Batman spinoff series heavily focused on Sofia Falcone. Picking up from the events of episode 3, the episode saw Sofia Falcone learn that it was Oswald who shot Alberto, and that he was working with the Maronis as well. However, during the encounter with the Maronis, she passed out while phoning Julian Rush for help. This is when the episode flashed back to 10 years ago.

With a journalist accusing Carmine Falcone of strangling women and murdering them, Sofia Falcone decides to pursue the story but dismisses it later on.

However, she finds similarities in these stories with her mother's s*icide and starts doubting her father as well. But when Oswald tells Carmine that Sofia met with a reporter to discuss the story, he frames her for his crimes, which leads to her being known as The Hangman.

Sofia is then sent to Arkham, to be treated later on as she is declared mentally ill, and meets Julian Rush there. While she is eligible for a trial in 6 months, the judge dismisses her case as she is declared mentally insane by the doctors at Arkham. Heartbroken, she then murders an inmate at Arkham, which leads to her mental health worsening.

10 years later, Sofia is back in the outer world and with the Falcone family having turned her back on her, she wants revenge. In the present-day, Sofia then kills the entire Falcone family in their sleep as she takes the top spot and starts running the criminal business.

Going into episode 5, fans can expect to see Sofia Falcone leading the Falcone business and family now. Having eliminated everyone in the family, no one stands in her way. However, knowing that Oswald is out there and he betrayed her, she would want revenge on him as well.

On Oswald's side of things, fans can expect him to be back in the focus of the show. However, he will have to keep an eye out as not only Sofia but also the Maroni family will be coming for him.
