The Penguin mid-season preview: Sofia Falcone swears revenge on Oswald Cobb

Following the premiere of episode 4 of The Penguin, Max dropped the mid-season preview for the remainder of the show online. The trailer picks up with Sofia Falcone now being the new queen of the Falcone family as she swears revenge on Oswald Cobb for snitching on her and being the reason that she was sent to the Arkham mental institute by her father.

Aside from that, the teaser for the second half of The Penguin also teases what Oswald will be up to in the second half of the season. With most of the Falcone family dead, the Maronis remain a threat to him, and it looks like he will be trying to take them out alongside Victor Aguilar.

Not only that, but the preview also teases that the reason Oswald will be trying to take the top spot in Gotham's criminal underworld is so that he can prove his worth to his mother as well. By the end of the teaser, it's clear that all of this will accumulate into Oswald, Sofia, and the Maronis trying to fight over the keys to who gets to rule Gotham.

So, those excited to tune into the remainder of The Penguin can do so when a new episode premieres this coming Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 9 pm Eastern Standard Time exclusively on Man and HBO. The series will also air its finale on November 10, 2024.

What can fans expect from The Penguin going forward?

Episode 4 of The Penguin delved deep into the story of Sofia Falcone and also helped set up the remainder of the series and the struggles that Oswald will be facing going forward. While the show had teased that Oswald initially had something to do with Sofia's downfall, episode 4 pretty much did confirm that his actions led to her being sent to Arkham.

It was also revealed that Sofia got to know that it was Oswald who killed Alberto and this further fueled her rage as she had been betrayed by everyone she trusted. So, going forward in the series, fans can definitely expect to see Sofia do her best to get her revenge on Oswald and make sure that she can bring as much pain to him as possible.

With there also being a new drug on the streets of Gotham called Bliss, Sofia will certainly want to be its prime distributor, and that's a potential plot line that fans can also expect to see explored in The Penguin. However, on Oswald's side of things, it certainly looks like he and Victor will have an uphill battle in front of them to get on the top of the food chain in the city.

With both, the Maronis and Sofia gunning for their head, they will have to constantly look out for their back. But, Oswald still has his eyes on the prize, and he will also be making a play for the top spot in the criminal underworld of Gotham.

What is The Penguin about?

The Penguin is a The Batman spinoff series that was created by Lauren LeFranc and has Matt Reeves attached to it as a producer. The series takes place one week after the events of The Batman and focuses on Oswald Cobb as he tries to take the top spot in Gotham's criminal underworld while trying to navigate his way through the crime families, Falcones and Maronis.
