The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol is certainly a mouthful, but it is a highly appropriate title and no, it is not just Season 2 of the Daryl Dixon spinoff. The season will premiere on September 29 on AMC at 9 p.m. EST.

The addition of fan-favorite actress Melissa McBride as Carol adds a whole new dimension to the show, bringing the unique relationship between both characters to the fore.

Season 1 followed the journey of Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, who washes ashore in France and is then tasked with protecting a young man, Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), who is hailed by the locals as the savior of humanity.

When The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol kicks off, we learn that miles away in America, Carol Peletier is determined to find her beloved companion. And so begins a story that spans two continents and through twists and turns, keeps the audience at the edge of their seats.

Anne Charrier (Genet) and Romain Levi (Codron) spoke to Sportskeeda about their experience of meeting Melissa McBride on the set of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol. Needless to say, it was a positive experience for both.

Levi had previously expressed what a big fan of Melissa McBride he is, which makes one wonder whether he was nervous about making her acquaintance:

"I was a bit intimidated in the beginning of course. But she was so simple, so nice, so kind, so easygoing on set that very easily I felt okay, that’s an amazing partner. I can feel that. Let’s play, let’s have fun, let’s connect with each other. Let’s trust in each other."

Even Anne Charrier, the ultimate villain in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol gushed about how wonderful Melissa McBride is:

"It was very easygoing actually. Because Melissa is that kind of person. So you’re very impressed because you’re going to meet Carol. And then you meet Melissa. Very fast it becomes a professional partnership and it’s a very happy one."

The cast of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol on their favorite villains from the show

The layman may believe that the show is about the living versus the dead, but true evil in the zombie-ridden universe comes from the demented human beings who have been pushed too far in their quest for survival.

Both Charrier and Levi, integral components in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol were antagonists in the first season. When asked about their favorite villains from the world, Levi named Negan:

"Okay. I’ll start. I’d say definitely I really love Negan. He is one of my favorites. I love the way he was behaving you know. Kind of little theatrical ways to behave you know. I love this so much. I was very impressed by his way of behaving, really."

Charrier chose a different villain, but an equally loathsome one. She stated:

"I would say Alpha. Alpha was my favorite. Maybe because she’s a woman you know. I thought she was so horrible. I thought hiding that way, the way she was sneaking in and stuff, she was horrible. She was definitely my favourite one."
