Young Sheldon star Montana Jordan recently opened up about how much he enjoys being a dad. In his interview with People at CBS Hosts Sit-Down Comedy Event on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Los Angeles, the actor spoke about fatherhood and welcoming his daughter, Emma Rae Jordan.
Stating that it has been great for him and that there is nothing better, he added:
"She's (Emma) great, man. There's nothing better than freaking being a dad. There's nothing better, for sure."
Jordan announced the birth of his daughter with influencer girlfriend Jenna Weeks in an Instagram post shared on May 21. It featured a photo of the Georgie Cooper actor cradling his baby with the caption:
"5/21/2024 God has blessed me with a beautiful babygirl. Emma Rae Jordan, Momma and Daddy love you. Forever and always."
Jenna Weeks announced her pregnancy with Montana Jordan in January 2024
Talking to People, Montana Jordan revealed that the experience has taught him patience. The actor has taken to documenting his daughter's life on his Instagram account, including the time she visited him on the sets of the Young Sheldon spinoff series, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage.
Talking about learning the ropes of caring for children, Jordan explained he is an uncle to two young nieces. He stated:
"She's (Emma) 4 months old now and I've got two little nieces, a five-year-old niece and a two-year-old niece. So I've been around kids and I've always loved them, but I can give my nieces back."
Montana Jordan joked:
"I can't give mine back. I'm stuck with her."
He, however, immediately remarked he was kidding.
Fans were first clued in on Jordan and Weeks' child in January 2024, when the latter shared photos of the two of them standing in the field holding sonograms on Instagram.
Jordan updated his fans about the pregnancy in April 2024 when he shared a post of walking the red carpet at the Country Music Television Awards with Jenna, who sported her baby bump.
In his interview, Jordan also spoke about his upcoming show, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, opposite Emily Osment's Mandy. He elaborated that the show picks up from where Young Sheldon left off with the lead pair marrying and moving to Texas to raise their daughter. It follows the "ups and downs" in their lives.
The on-screen couple met in season five of Young Sheldon and spent the night together, which leads to Mandy getting pregnant. She gives birth to their daughter, Constance, in season six. The pair eventually have a heart-to-heart and marry at the end of the Big Bang Theory prequel show. The series ended earlier this year.
However, CBS ordered another spin-off based on Georgie and Mandy's lives, which Montana Jordan announced in an Instagram post, writing:
"GET READY!!!! The Cooper family continues. Thank y’all for the support of Young Sheldon. I hope to deliver just what y’all are looking for in this new adventure."
Jordan told People he was confident that audiences would love the show, just like its predecessor. He also spoke about his co-star Osment, explaining they have good on-screen chemistry, adding that she's very professional and a great person.
Montana Jordan's Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage is set to premiere in October.
