On Monday, June 17, 2024, Trina McGee, best known for playing Angela Moore on ABC's Boy Meets World, opened up about her "miracle" pregnancy at 54. In a candid interview with PEOPLE, McGee revealed that her pregnancy was "completely natural" and came as a "shock" to her.

"I just kept saying, 'Is this really happening?' I still do that. 'Is this really happening?' But it is," she remarked.

Last week, the actress took to her Instagram to announce she was expecting her fourth child and first child with her current husband, Marcello Theoford.

"At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant. Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you," she said.

Gushing about the time when she first shared the happy news with Marcello, Trina remarked that he reacted "so lovingly." She praised him for having "been so great" and supporting her. McGee, who is 12 weeks into her pregnancy, shared that she doesn't know the baby's gender or what she plans to name the baby.

"But right now, the baby's name is Sonny X. We just call him Sonny X. (My husband) kind of wants a boy, so we just call it Sonny X. Family joke."

Trina McGee is also mother to three adult children with her first husband, Courtland Davis

Trina McGee explained that, as compared to her previous pregnancies, "it feels very (much) like a miracle." She elaborated that this was "more intentional" as opposed to when she was caring for her older children. At the time, she said she was thinking about going back to work.

"I've had all my kids during a thriving acting career. All of them have been on television in my stomach," she added.

Trina McGee is a mother to Ramia, 31, Langston, 29, and Ezra, 25, with her first husband, actor Courtland Davis. McGee commented that she had her oldest daughter when she did a guest spot on A Different World, her second child when she was working on the Martin show and Sinbad, and her youngest on Boy Meets World.

"So they all have that, but this one is like, 'Whoa, okay.' He or she got a lot more press in the stomach than the other ones," she added.

In a June 4 interview with ET, Trina McGee explained she and Theoford (together for 16 years) hoped to welcome a child together for a long time, even considering IVF, but things never worked out for them.

However, the actress explained that what helped was the advice of "shamans" in Belize, where Theoford has a "cultural background," to take medicinal herbs. She credited the herbs, a healthy lifestyle, and a low-stress environment for the "miracle, beautiful, and triumphant" pregnancy.

The actress is not the only celebrity to have a baby past the age of 50. In March 2024, Cameron Diaz, 51, welcomed her son Cardinal with her husband, Benji Madden. In June 2023, model Naomi Campbell announced the birth of her son. She was 53 at the time. Model and actress Brigitte Nielsen, too, gave birth at 54 in 2019.
