Disney drew a lot of attention as Pixar pulled the transgender storyline from its upcoming TV series, Win or Lose. The news was confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by a Disney Spokesperson, who stated:

“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline.”

However, as soon as the news reached the realms of social media, the netizens were divided and started pouring in their reactions. An X account, @PopCrave shared the news on the platform, to which, another user responded by saying:

“We keep regressing everytime.”

Others also had a similar reaction as many commented:

“Yet no one’s straighter for watching almost exclusively straight television for the last 60 years,” stated one social media user.
“Disney’s transphobia will be remembered,” added another.
“Disney will go wherever the money goes. Rn that’s with more conservative audiences. I’m sure the pendulum will swing again in the future,” exclaimed one more.
“In an effort to seem more “respectful” and “progressive” we’ve actually started regressing as humans.History is repeating itself at faster, alarming rates and we’re just… watching it happen cause what does any of this even matter anymore?” questioned a netizen.

There were a handful who seemed to agree with the entertainment company.

“First time I agree with them,” exclaimed one user on the post.
“It took them a while to figure this one out. It’s alright though. One thing at a time. The world feels like it’s healing,” wrote another.
“Common sense prevails!” added one more X user.
