Following Trump’s win at the 2024 election, Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel teared up as he labeled Trump's victory 'a terrible night.' During the show’s Wednesday, November 6 episode, Kimmel began a monologue, stating that all was lost after the former US President was re-elected as president.

While doing so, he addressed the audience and said,

“It was a terrible night last night. It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hardworking immigrants who make this country go. For healthcare, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech…”

Then blinking back his tear, he continued,

“It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on social security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for the troops, and democracy and decency. And it was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him. And guess what? It was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too. You just don't realize it yet…”

Now, once the video of his speech was uploaded on X by Pop Base on November 7, netizens took to the comment section to express their opinion about the whole thing. One user even said that more people like Jimmy Kimmel are needed in society.

“We need more men like Jimmy that care!” wrote one X user.

Many others also expressed their thoughts, saying that Kimmel captured the “emotional impact that night had” really well.

“Jimmy Kimmel really captured the emotional impact that night had on so many people,” said one user.
“He was so real for this,” wrote another X user.
“And that's why he's better than jimmy fallon,” said one netizen, comparing Kimmel with his fellow show host, Jimmy Fallon.

Meanwhile, other X users criticized the voters for choosing Trump, saying that this was a “huge loss for the country."

“Huge loss for the country and especially the women in it. America is cooked,” said one user.
“I just will never get over the fact they voted for a felon ect,” wrote another netizen.
“SOMEONE THAT'S LITERALLY QUALIFIED IN THE THREE JUDICIAL BRANCHES LOST THE ELECTION TO A CONVICTED FELON,” said another X user.

During his speech in response to former President Trump's election victory on Tuesday, the late-night show presenter Jimmy Kimmel teared up. During the same speech on Wednesday night, Kimmel informed his audience,

“On the flip side, it was a really good night for Putin and for polio and for lovable billionaires like Elon Musk, and the bros up in Silicon Valley, and all the wriggling brain worms who sold what was left of their souls to bow down to Donald Trump.”

He further noted that it came down to a prosecutor and a criminal to choose the president,

“...and we chose the criminal to be President of the United States. More than half of this country voted for the criminal who is planning to pardon himself for his crimes. I guess this election wasn’t rigged.”

Then Jimmy Kimmel asserted that Trump had already announced that this election would be rigged. Stating the same, he said,

“Isn’t it remarkable that this time, the fix wasn’t in? Last time the Democrats cheated, this time we chose not to, I guess? I don’t know. Now this Donald Trump, he’s like the Emperor from ‘Star Wars.’ He’s old, he’s evil, and he keeps coming back with no reasonable explanation whatsoever.”

As per The Hill's November 7 report, days before the election, Jimmy Kimmel, who has been a vocal opponent of Trump for years, gave an 18-minute monologue in which he begged the Republicans not to support their candidate this week.

This latest episode of Kimmel’s show came after the former US President Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris and was elected for a second term. With more than 290 electoral votes, Trump defeated Kamala Harris.
