Jackass alum Bam Margera will spend six months on probation after pleading guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The 44-year-old was charged with assaulting his brother and threatening family members following a disagreement at his home in Chester County, Pennsylvania, last year.

Additionally, his probation is subject to random drug testing, meaning if he tested positive, he could be sentenced to jail.

During his April 2023 visit home, the Viva La Bam star confronted his brother, Jess Margera, after seeing a text that suggested he (Bam) needed mental health treatment. It led to an altercation that left Jess with a ruptured eardrum. As per Jess, Bam even threatened to shoot members of their family, forcing his girlfriend to call the police.

Bam surrendered to the Pennsylvania State Police four days after the incident and was charged with simple assault, harassment, and four counts of terroristic threats. He was released on $50,000 bail.

After Wednesday's hearing, Bam's attorney, Michael van der Veen, told Entertainment Weekly that all misdemeanor charges against his client were dropped, adding:

"We're glad that the case is over and behind him. Bam is doing really well, and we look forward to his success in the future."

Jess Margera's lawyer, William J. Brennan, told the Associated Press that Bam Margera has been clean, sober, and productive since his arrest last year, adding that the TV personality won this case "just by turning his life around."

During a July 2023 hearing, Jess testified about what he called two decades of Bam's troubling behavior, which escalated to a "frightening and unpredictable" two-week visit last April.

"I don't care about the money. My brother's a good dude when he's not messed up. I don't think he would hurt a fly. It's just when he's been up for days, it's scary," Jess told the court.

Jess added he wasn't trying to get the Jackass alum "in trouble," but wanted him to "get the help" he needed, stating it was their "last chance." During the same hearing, Bam Margera told the court he was getting drug and alcohol treatment at Lamar Odom's rehab center.

Following Wednesday's hearing, the 44-year-old TV personality told ABC 6 that he "needed to realize" that his drinking habits had put him in "situations that were really not good." He added that he didn't want to get back to that lifestyle.

Bam Margera has a history of substance abuse and has entered rehab several times. His drinking has led to arrests for charges that include DUI and public intoxication.

In May 2024, Bam married his model girlfriend, Dannii Marie. During his vows, he thanked Marie for helping him quit drinking. This August will mark a year of sobriety for the 44-year-old.
