Gordon Ramsay recently revealed his injuries that resulted from a bicycle accident that happened in Connecticut this week. In a video shared on his Instagram account on June 15, 2024, he explained his overall experience while showing his bruises.
Ramsay began the accompanying caption by writing that he has an "important message" for everyone on the occasion of Father's Day. He requested everyone wear a helmet while riding a bicycle and added:
"This week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I'm doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato."
Apart from the video, there were two photos in the post. One photo featured Gordon Ramsay posing in a yellow and black cycling outfit, while the other showed the badly damaged helmet and other cycling gear. The 57-year-old ended the social media post by writing:
"I'm thankful to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father's Day and be safe Gx."
The comments section of the post was flooded with different responses, where people were spotted wishing the celebrity chef a quick recovery.

As mentioned, the restaurateur had an accident this week, and he showed off his injuries in an Instagram video. While he shared his experience in the caption, he also had a few words for everyone who was watching the clip. He said that he was thankful to his helmet for saving his life.
Gordon Ramsay added that he was shaken by everything that happened and was lucky to be back at work. He continued:
"Now, from those incredible trauma surgeons, doctors, nurses and the hospital that looked after me this week, they were amazing. But, honestly, you've got to wear a helmet. I don't care how short the journey is. I don't care [about] the fact that these helmets cost money."
The MasterChef US star stated that people should also advise their children to use helmets. Ramsay revealed that his bones were not broken and said in the end:
"I'm in pain. It's been a brutal week. And I'm sort of getting through it. But, I cannot tell you the importance of wearing a helmet."
Gordon Ramsay has participated in various cycling races, marathons and triathalons. He takes part in Ironman events as well. In an interview with The Times in 2018, Ramsay shared that he lost around 56 lbs. and underwent training by participating in a race alongside swimming, bike riding, and also running for 13.1 miles.
Ramsay has also been appearing in the reality competition series Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars since May last year. It has aired for two seasons until now.
