Mark Kriski, who is known for his appearances on KTLA, was recently taken to the hospital after he suffered a stroke on May 27, 2024, at his residence in Los Angeles. Kriski has gained recognition for being a weather expert and is a recipient of nine Emmy Awards, as per the website of KTLA.
The news comes after the death of another KTLA journalist Sam Rubin on May 10, 2024. Sam also had a heart attack and the news was revealed by an anchor for the channel, Frank Buckley.
Mark Kriski's wife Jennifer Gould shared a statement on Wednesday, May 29, saying that her husband is slowly recovering. Furthermore, Jennifer shared a post on X the following day that he is supposed to do his duties as soon as possible.
In another post the same day, Gould expressed her gratitude to everyone and wrote—
"My husband @markkriski & I are extremely grateful by the outpouring of love, thoughts & prayers. Mark is a fighter & will overcome this. A special shout out to our @KTLA family you've shown up in droves! Mark can't wait to be back on air: Stay tuned."

Mark Kriski was hospitalised in 2010 after being diagnosed with pneumonia, despite the fact that his stroke has been making headlines recently. In the upcoming days, he was able to go back home, according to LA Observed.
However, things did not stop so soon since he was taken to the ICU after he had another infection. He had to eventually undergo surgery due to the infection. He was in the hospital until 2011 and in a conversation with Eric Spillman of Channel 5, he said—
"This thing really beat the hell out of me. But the doctors told me I'm young enough to bounce back."
Mark further stated that he was expected to be discharged soon. Kriski even told Spillman that he has to spend some time at home and regain his strength for the work. Furthermore, Kriski later appeared for an interview with The Times, saying that he found a new perspective after his hospitalization and surgery.
He added—
"On one hand, this was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. On the other hand, it is the best thing that has ever happened."
