In the latest episode (June 7) of a podcast titled Citizen McCain, host Meghan McCain called Jennifer Lopez “deeply unpleasant." She said this while recalling the time when the duo interacted on the show, The View, in February 2024.
Talking about the same incident, McCain told co-host, Miranda Wilkins:
"I, too, share similar negative stories that the entire world does. I feel bad because we're turning a point where there's bullying happening to J.Lo. She just is a deeply unpleasant person. She had the biggest entourage I've ever seen. More than Kim Kardashian and the president. I just don't really understand why it was needed."
Moreover, McCain and Wilkins spoke about an alleged TikTok video shared by the former where she stated that Lopez was “not her favorite guest” to appear on the show. Claiming how Jennifer Lopez had “taken their video down,” she added that the video was later reinstated on TikTok.
Later, a representative for Meghan spoke to Entertainment Weekly on June 7 and claimed that the video was reinstated a few hours after they clicked on “appeal,” as the video was deleted after a violation notice. However, the duo continued to discuss another incident when Jennifer Lopez asked a staff member to hold a mirror with lights as the others were doing her touch-up backstage.
“Just fake it till you make it” — Meghan McCain criticizes Jennifer Lopez for not being nice to the crew on The View
During the Citizen McCain podcast, Meghan McCain and Miranda Wilkins recounted more instances and spoke about how Jennifer Lopez was “not nice” while filming The View. Elaborating the same, Meghan said:
"I was a host at The View, she was not nice. You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising that people like Kim Kardashian couldn't be more delightful. When you're coming on a show for a 10-minute segment. Just fake it till you make it for 10 fu**ing minutes."
However, the podcast hosts were also joined by TV producer, Carlos King, who had a different view about the singer, as he stated that he was a “huge J.Lo. fan. Narrating one incident when he met the singer in 2001 during the promotion of her single, I’m Real, King said:
"She was so nice, and she didn't have a big entourage. Now look, I'm not a dummy. She has since become, like, this global superstar. Megan knows I love Vegas. I went to see J.Lo in Vegas and — top 5 shows I've ever been to in my life… She performed and danced for 90 minutes straight — no break. She's a hard worker, and I was shocked that people weren't buying the tickets."
As the clips made their way on social media, netizens were divided as some supported The View hosts. On the other hand, a few sided with Jennifer Lopez. However, at the moment, the singer has not commented on the opinion shared by Wilkins and McCain.
On the acting front, Lopez was recently seen in the Netflix movie, Atlas, which was a massive hit amongst the masses. Moreover, her new album titled This Is Me…Now is also topping the charts globally. She will be next seen in Unstoppable and Kiss of the Spider Woman by the end of 2024 and early 2025 respectively.
