Skai Jackson has welcomed her first baby, which the former Disney star confirmed on her Instagram post on Sunday, January 26. The new mom also revealed her baby's name, "Kasai," in the caption. The said post featured a picture of Jackson holding her newborn baby's hands as they sported dark green checked outfits. The picture, however, kept both of their faces cut, and in the caption, the Disney alum simply wrote:
"Kasai."
Besides the name of her baby in the one-word caption and the brown teddy bear and heart emojis, Skai Jackson hasn't shared any details about her newborn, including the baby's birthdate or gender.
That said, Jackson had shared pictures and videos of her pregnancy journey on other social media platforms in the past. On Sunday, she posted a video on TikTok while she was still pregnant, showing off the process of packing her back of the hospital and preparing for her baby's birth.
The confirmation of her baby's birth came around two months after People exclusively confirmed that Skai Jackson was expecting her first kid with her boyfriend. In a November 2024 statement to People magazine, she said:
"I'm thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life—embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!"
Jackson has not publicly identified her boyfriend and the father of her baby.
Skai Jackson previously made headlines defending her boyfriend following her pregnancy news
A Facebook user named Yerkky Yerkky, who claimed to be the father of Skai Jackson's baby, shared a post on November 12, 2024, the same day she announced her pregnancy via People magazine, saying:
"On wopp im salty i got this dumb a*s Disney Chanel b**ch pregnant I hate this h*e."
The Facebook post went viral, especially following a blogger named Tasha K amplifying the post by sharing a screenshot of it online and sharing that he allegedly fathered other children with different women. It sparked even more controversy over Skai Jackson's alleged boyfriend and the father of her baby's past, including allegations of criminal records.
As the situation escalated, Skai Jackson and her mother, Kiya Cole, came to the former's alleged boyfriend's defense. In Jackson's now-deleted Instagram post, she claimed that her alleged baby's father's Facebook page was hacked. She said at the time, per Daily Mail:
"His page was hacked! He never said this. End of story."
Daily Mail also reported that Kiya Cole shared the same sentiment, posting her comment and saying that her daughter's alleged boyfriend never said those words and urged netizens to "stop being messy."
However, that wasn't the first time Jackson and her alleged boyfriend Yerkky Yerkky, aka Deondre Burgin, made headlines over some drama. In August last year, Jackson was arrested at Universal Studious Citywalk in Los Angeles after an alleged altercation with Burgin. Authorities reportedly responded to a call following the theme park's security personally detaining Jackson after she allegedly pushed her boyfriend.
She was reportedly taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station but was later released. In September last year, the former Disney star's representative shared that she would not be charged following her domestic battery arrest.
Skai Jackson previously worked on Disney's comedy series Jessie and the spinoff Bunk'd and also appeared on Dancing With the Stars in 2020.
