What happened in Superman & Lois season 4 episode 3?

In episode 3 of Superman & Lois season 4, fans got to see Smallville deal with the death of Superman.

The episode begins with Jonathan getting his powers and Lois taking him down to the DOD so that General Sam Lane can train him. Moreover, Same Lane also enlists John Henry Irons and Natalie Irons so that they can keep Smallville safe from Doomsday in Superman's absence.

General Sam Lane also got a vial of Superman's blood so that he could look at ways to revive him. However, when Luthor sent one of his goons to Lane to figure out where his daughter Elizabeth was, Sam got shot. Sam then decided to use Superman's blood on himself when he saw that Lex sent Doomsday for the DOD and then gave John Henry Irons some orders as a secret.

When Doomsday arrived at the DOD, Sam sacrificed himself and refused to give up the location of Lex's daughter. Irons then flew Sam to the Fortress of Solitude where he asked Lara to transfer his heart into Superman's, as he had Kryptonian blood going through his heart. Back at home, Natalie Irons explained the situation to a heartbroken Lois.

The episode ended with Superman waking up from the dead, teasing that he's going to be back on the screens again next week.

What to expect from Superman & Lois season 4 episode 4?

Going forward, fans can expect to see Superman back in action in the series. Given that in the first three episodes he didn't have a major role to play, now that he's alive, he will be back at the forefront of the series. However, fans shouldn't expect him to be at his full power right from the get-go, as he has just woken up from his death.

Moreover, fans can also expect to see a fight between the Man of Steel and Doomsday once more in the future. Given that Doomsday's threat is still lurking, Luthor will try and use him to eliminate Superman again.
