Greenville, South Carolina resident Rob The Rabbit Pitts, who gained popularity through the Netflix series Tex Mex Motors, recently passed away. According to his videographer Jeff Trahan, Pitts, better known as "The Rabbit," passed away on Sunday, August 25, at the age of 45, from stomach cancer, as reported by WYFF.
A video was uploaded on Rob The Rabbit Pitts' YouTube channel on August 26 to bid his fans farewell. Following the announcement, his fans flocked to YouTube to pay tribute.
Pitts, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer at the end of March 2024, served as the CEO of Pitts Truck Service. The third-generation family-run company, founded in 1968, provides truck and trailer repair services. In Seneca, he also owned Rabbits Used Cars.

Rob The Rabbit Pitts gave details of his illness in a YouTube video

Following his death, a memorial video was uploaded on Rob's official YouTube account. Nearly a million people have viewed it since it was uploaded on Sunday night. Rob disclosed the details of his cancer diagnosis in the video titled This Is Goodbye. (RIP 7/27/79 - 8/25/24). Pitts' final remarks, set to Jacob Lincoln's song Too Late, are presented in black and white.
After that, Rob The Rabbit Pitts explained his own condition, stating that he had been "feeling off" the previous year and had started to lose a lot of weight to get ready to film Tex Mex Motors' second season. He went on to say that he didn't mind that too much, though, because he was getting ready to film Tex Mex Motors season 2 for Netflix and wanted to be camera-ready.
He further revealed that his castmate Jaime finally took him to the ER as they assumed that he had gallbladder problems. He was then diagnosed with stomach cancer there. It happened around the end of March.
Pitts then informed his fans about his diagnosis in the three-minute YouTube video, pleading with them not to feel sorry for him. He went on to say that he had developed "acid reflux-like symptoms" as filming commenced. When he was brought to the emergency room in March, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
Rob The Rabbit Pitts stated, disclosing that he had been getting treatment at home,
"It's been rough. More bad days than good but hanging in there. I have a lot to live for and life has been going my way. Don't be sad for me."
He further stated,
“I accomplished my dream of buying my own store, filming Season 2 of Netflix, and marrying the love of my life. Luckily she doesn't mind doing long-term things with a short-term guy."
After that, the Netflix star advised his followers to seek medical attention if they thought something wasn't right with them. On the other hand, in the comments of the emotional video, Jeff said,
"Hey everyone, this is Jeff (Rob's Videographer). I am with him now in Hospice. He just passed at 21:45 on 08/25/2024. He will be missed and we will never forget him!"

As per WYFF, Jeff said that Pitts attended Wade Hampton High School while growing up in Greenville. In the Netflix series Tex Mex Motors, Pitts and fellow car scout Scooter Carrera traveled over the U.S.-Mexico border to acquire old automobiles to restore and resell.
He was also involved in selling restored historic cars. The presentation includes a 69 Opel, a '65 Volkswagen Bug, a '63 Chevy Carryall, and an old Bronco. In June 2023, the series made its Netflix debut. As Jeff reported, Rob The Rabbit Pitts was filming Tex Mex Motors for Netflix's second season when he received the news that he had stage 4 stomach cancer in March.
