During the interview, the actor said:

"I might co-parent with a woman, but I’m thinking it will be with a man."

Bailey added that he was in no hurry to bring a child into his life, particularly because of his hectic lifestyle. According to the actor, having a child "is a privilege", and he would want to be present for the kid when he decides to have one. In December 2023, Jonathan Bailey had an interview with The Evening Standard, where the actor revealed that he was dating a "lovely" man. While Bailey confirmed that he was in a relationship, he never revealed his partner's name.

Jonathan Bailey told the outlet then:

"It’s not secret, but it’s private. Having a private life is, for me, completely critical. I don’t know if I would be able to be as confident to speak out on other things if I felt that my whole life was up for grabs."

While Bailey came out as gay in his 20s, to his family and friends, he publicly revealed it in 2018.

While talking to British Vogue lately, he again wasn't comfortable discussing his dating life. Bailey further mentioned during the latest interview that in his 20s, while he was still discovering his s*xuality, he went through a phase where he dated a woman for about two years.

According to Jonathan Bailey, he has been good friends with the woman since then. For the actor, the realization of his s*xuality was more of a "gradual" thing rather than a sudden shift. Talking about the shift and the two year-long relationship with the woman, Bailey said:

"It’s interesting with the binary where you’re perceived to be either this or that. That’s how I saw it at the time, but there are so many nuances to it..."

Jonathan Bailey also claimed that people around him possibly knew about his s*xuality before he realised.
