In what can be considered a shocking decision, Good Omens season 3, whose production was previously suspended following allegations of s*xual harassment against Neil Gaiman, will now only consist of a single episode. This move comes after Gaiman's exit from the show. The series is based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman.
The third season of Good Omens will wrap up in a single 90-minute episode, which will provide a conclusion to the story. As the series was created by Neil Gaiman himself, his exit means that the functioning of the series will not remain the same.
Amazon has confirmed that the author will not be involved in the third season of the show following its resumption. Gaiman has worked in the third season prior to the allegations but is not involved anymore in any capacity. He was previously credited as the creator, executive producer, and showrunner in the hit Prime Video show.

Why is Good Omens season 3 production halted?
This was already meant to be the final season of Good Omens, a show that has received significant critical acclaim following its premiere back in 2019. However, production on the final season of the show was halted after allegations of s*xual misconduct came up against creator Neil Gaiman, who also wrote the novel on which the series is based.
As many as five women accused the author of s*xual assault earlier this year, which was also detailed in a podcast titled Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. The author denied having any involvement in the said assaults but had decided to step away from the production of Good Omens, so it could conclude the story with the third season.
Since September 2024, the production of the show has been on pause with no certainty of it moving forward. Today, on October 24, it was announced that the third season will indeed arrive but with only one episode, something that has not been witnessed in shows before.
The third season of the Neil Gaiman show was renewed in December 2023.
Amazon Prime Video has another Neil Gaiman property at hand
Besides Good Omens season 3, Amazon Prime Video also has another Gaiman adaptation on its roaster. Titled Anansi Boys, this show has also wrapped up production but does not have a release date yet. This show may also suffer from the events surrounding Neil Gaiman.
Both these shows are reportedly a part of a first-look deal between Gaiman and Amazon. It is unlikely that more adaptations of the famed author's work will be developed by Amazon in the future, however.
