Nobody Wants This season 2, the much-awaited sequel of the famous romedy, is finally happening. On October 10, 2024, Netflix announced it had renewed the series for a second season. The popular screenwriter Jenni Konner and cartoonist Bruce Eric Kaplan have been selected as the showrunners and executive producers.
The series is a creation of the American writer and entrepreneur Erin Foster, who developed the series based on her personal experiences. The first season of Nobody Wants This was released on September 26, 2024 and received a positive reception on the streaming platform.
The story is based on the unconventional love story of agnostic podcaster Joanne and a rabbi named Noah Roklov. Season 1 ended abruptly when Noah, breaking his ground rules, kissed Joanne in the parking lot. Nobody Wants This season 2 will explore the fate of these characters and follow where their uncustomary love story will take them.
Nobody Wants This season 2 is likely to explore the sacrifices the lovers have to make to be together
The storyline of Nobody Wants This explores spirituality and beliefs, since Noah, despite being a rabbi, is not Jewish while Joanne is an agnostic. At the season's end, the lovers had to confront their deepest beliefs. Though initially, Joanne considered converting for Noah, she later accepted that she was not completely ready to do so.
The lovers were on the verge of going their separate ways until Noah decided to do the unexpected. He decided to go against the commandments, go against his religion, to keep the love of his life. Nobody Wants This season 2 will likely bring more challenges for them on the way.
Since Noah's family does not completely accept Joanne, his major decision will likely strain his kinship. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are set to reprise their roles as Joanne and Noah.
