Jemmy escapes the tunnels in Outlander season 7 episode 13
Jemmy's kidnapping has been one of the central storylines of Outlander season 7 part 2, particularly as it marked the beginning of Roger's journey in 1739 Scotland. In Outlander season 7 episode 13, Jemmy finally escaped from the tunnels where Rob Cameron hid him, reuniting with his mother, Brianna, and her sister, Mandy, who went looking for him.
The episode opened with Brianna holding Rob Cameron hostage, but despite this, she couldn't get Jemmy's location from him. What she did instead was look for Jemmy with Mandy in their car. They drove around playing hot or cold—hot when Mandy felt Jemmy was near and cold when she felt otherwise.
From Jemmy's point of view, he was banging on the metal door and shouting for help. However, no one could hear him. He recalled a conversation with Brianna about how she escaped the tunnels when Rob and her other male coworkers pranked her by locking her inside.
Jemmy followed the steps Brianna described to get out of the tunnels, from flipping all of the breaker boxes to turning on the lights and going right when the tunnel split in two directions. At the very end, he found the blue haze where he could hear Roger calling for 'Jeremiah MacKenzie,' the same time-traveling portal Brianna found.
While Outlander season 7 episode 13 didn't show whether Jemmy walked through the portal or not, Brianna later found him on the road when she almost ran over him. It turned out that Rob locked Jemmy in the same tunnel at Loch Errochty where he and other male coworkers once locked Brianna as a prank. This connection is why Brianna's story about her escape helped Jemmy find his way out as well.

Outlander season 7 episode 13 saw Young Ian and Rachel get married
In Jamie Fraser and Claire's timeline in Outlander season 7 episode 13, Young Ian and Rachel took a big step in their relationship. They decide to get married just as the war looms and before Young Ian and Jamie must return to battle.
The wedding took place at Mercy Woodcock's home, with little fanfare. Rachel opted to borrow a dress and forgo flowers. Only their close friends attended, including Jamie, Claire, Mercy, and Lord John Grey's nephew, Henry, who was the reason Claire had to return to Philadelphia in Outlander season 7 episode 9. Rachel's only family, her brother Denzell, also arrived for the wedding.
Roger MacKenzie found his father, Jerry, in Outlander season 7 episode 13
Outlander season 7 episode 13 also saw Roger MacKenzie and Buck still looking for his father, Jerry MacKenzie, thinking that finding him would help them find Jemmy as well. They visited the standing stones and saw a young boy who had his father's helmet. The boy told them where Jerry had gone into the woods and that some lamb owner, the MacBirneys, was looking for him because he stole one.
They followed his footsteps and found Jerry in the woods with an injured hand. Roger told him that he was also a time traveler but withheld the information that he was Jerry's son. Soon after, they heard the MacBirneys and their dogs looking for them, so they had to hightail it out of there. They went back to the standing stones, where Roger sent Jerry back to his own timeline.
He gave him a gem and said to think about his wife before touching the center stone. After Jerry was gone, Roger told Buck that he thought Jerry had gone somewhere but not back to his family in his timeline because he couldn't feel something change in his memory. This indicated that despite being able to return, Jerry was still absent from Roger's life growing up.

Outlander season 7 episode 13 answers why Roger went to the wrong timeline
After sending Jerry off to his own timeline in Outlander season 7 episode 13, Roger engaged in an insightful conversation with Buck about why they were in 1739 Scotland. He said that the standing stones almost always send someone some 200 years back or forward, give or take. However, he mentioned that if the time traveler thinks of someone, then he or she can go further than that.
Roger also revealed that when they first time traveled, he was focused on finding Jemmy. Just as he touched the stone, he thought of his own father, Jerry, and how scared and alone he felt without him. He added:
"I think the stones brought us here so I could save his life."
He theorized that if that was the reason why the standing stone sent them in 1739, then Jemmy probably wasn't there.

Mysteries that Outlander season 7 episode 13 left out
While Outlander season 7 episode 13 brought Jemmy back to his family, it also left out some more mysteries for fans to ponder as they await future episodes. For one, it confirmed that Lord John Grey is alive and mostly unharmed. However, some continental armies found him, forcing him to assume a different identity to evade danger. It remains unclear whether he would be saved or not from the enemy soldiers.
The episode also left unanswered questions about Rob Cameron. Early on, Brianna had him tied up and locked in a room before she went looking for Jemmy. However, when she returned home with the police, he wasn't there. She thought someone had helped Rob escape. The episode concluded without revealing Rob's whereabouts or who helped him escape, leaving the threat of his return looming.
