Outlander season 7 episode 15, titled Written in My Own Heart's Blood, raised the stakes for Jamie and Claire Fraser and the rest of the show's heroes. The latest episode, which dropped on Starz for audiences in the US on Friday, January 3, 2025, brought a new set of twists and turns.

Jamie and Claire went to war and the Redcoats were starting to retreat. While Jamie emerged from the battle unscathed, a commotion at the camp placed the show's heroine in grave danger. It looked grim for Claire after one of the British soldiers shot her in the stomach, which could prove fatal.

The doctor at the camp also left, saying that there was nothing anyone could do for Claire. As the episode grew tense with Claire's life hanging in the balance, she told Jamie in a strained voice that she needed Denzell.

With only one episode left in the current season, Rachel's brother, the young Dr. Denzell Hunter, will try to save Claire from dying. However, whether or not Dr. Hunter will be successful or it will be the end of Outlander's beloved heroine remains to be seen in the finale.

It was a life and death situation for Claire Fraser in Outlander season 7 episode 15. She was shot in the stomach during the altercation that happened at the medical camp between the American and the British soldiers. While the Redcoats were starting to retreat, Jamie Fraser and some of his men went to the camp where Claire was tending to the wounded.

Jamie was unharmed, and as they looked at each other, Claire's thankfulness for Jamie's wellbeing was evident on her face. However, their reunion was cut short when the American and retreating British soldiers were egging each other, ending with them shooting at each other. Claire, stuck in the middle of the chaos, was shot in the stomach.

The supposed head doctor at the camp, however, said that he could do nothing to help Claire. He escaped to camp to go somewhere safe, and Jamie was desperate to save his wife, but no one was there to help. Even worse, he was being called by another general, but Jamie didn't want to leave Claire behind.

At this point, Claire was already groggy, but she was still spouting medical terms about her condition. She also told Jamie that she needed Denzell, Rachel's brother, so he sent one of his soldiers to get Dr. Denzell Hunter. He arrived back at the medical camp with Rachel and was on his way to operate on Claire. That said, Outlander season 7 episode 15 ended in a cliffhanger in terms of Claire's fate.

Denzell was introduced as a fairly young doctor who didn't have much experience of doing such a major operation. However, in the next episode, Claire's life lies in his hands, and it will be up to him if Outlander's heroine will live up to the finale of season 7.

Young Ian and Lord John Grey stage a rescue for William in Outlander season 7 episode 15

Before Outlander season 7 episode 14 ended, young Ian and Lord John Grey were already on their way to stage a rescue for William Ransom because Jamie couldn't do it himself because he was being called to war. The penultimate episode showed that they successfully saved William, although they arrived with him already battered, gagged, and his head covered.

It turned out that when Oberst Von Schnell received Captain Richardson's order to kidnap William, he fought and killed two of his men. However, he was captured in the end. Thankfully, young Ian and John arrived in time before von Schnell could injure William further.

They pretended that Richardson sent them to get William, but Schnell was asking for payment. When they couldn't agree to hand William over, John killed all of the Hessian men except for Schnell, whom young Ian had wrestled to a tree. While Ian spared his life at first, Schnell told him that he would regret it. Young Ian agreed, so when William and John departed, he hunted Schnell down and finished killing him.

Meanwhile, when William returned to the camp, Fanny told him that soldiers had captured her sister, Jane Pocock, because someone recognized her as the one who killed Captain Harkness.

Outlander season 7 episode 15 saw Roger and Buck get into an argument after Roger revealed something that he kept hidden for several episodes now. Back at the end of Outlander season 7 episode 9, Roger met the notorious Geillis Duncan. It turned out that Geillis was Buck's mother, which he learned after he asked Roger if he thought that his father was also a time traveler like them.

Roger answered that his father wasn't, but his mother was a time traveler. Buck asked him if he knew who his mother was. Roger admited that it was Geillis, which angered Buck because he would have wanted to know that she was his mother when they met.

When he further asked Roger about his parentage, he said that he knew who Buck's father was—Dougal MacKenzie—whom they met at Geillis' house in Outlander season 7 episode 10.

In Outlander season 7 episode 15, Bree and Roger had the same idea of how they could contact each other, and that was by leaving a letter at the laird's house. But before Bree could leave her letter to Roger and express that she and the kids had to go back, she saw that Roger had already left her one.

He told her all about arriving on the wrong timeline, which only solidified Bree's decision for her and the kids to travel in time. In the end, she went to the standing stones with Jemmy and Mandy, and she told the kids to think about their daddy once they touched the middle stone.

Bree gave a gem to each one of them, but before she could get the kids ready, Mandy ran into the standing stones yelling "Daddy," with Bree running after her in alarm.

It remains to be seen if they will arrive on the same timeline together or there is another twist to expect in the next episode. There's also still a question of whether they could go as far back as 1739 Scotland, where Roger remains, and get reunited with him.
