Owning Manhattan is renewing for its second season. On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Ryan Serhant, the real estate mogul, announced that Netflix has officially ordered the next season through an Instagram video that constantly implied the number two.
Owning Manhattan season one, which was released by Netflix on June 28, 2024, received a good reception. It stayed among the top ten TV shows in 30 countries and was in that position for two consecutive weeks in the United States.
The show documents the elite world of New York real estate and follows the life of celebrity real estate broker Ryan Serhant as he walks through the most expensive houses in the city and cracks some of the most arduous deals. In the show, a group of successful real estate agents follow Serhant and together they strive to make it to the top.
What to look forward to in the new season of Owning Manhattan
In the first season, we saw Ryan Serhant acting not just as a real estate broker, but also as a CEO who was managing an entire team. Despite all the chaos, the brokerage grew a lot quickly, expanding the business to eight states, and creating a team of almost 700 agents. Comprising eight episodes, in the season finale titled On the Edge, Serhant sold an entire building that was worth more than three hundred million dollars.
Serhant says the thrill the viewers felt during that last episode will stay the same way for all the episodes in the second season. In conversation with Tudum, in an article published on August 27, 2024, Serhant says,
“Tensions are high. Competition is fierce. Inventory is low everywhere, which means there are not enough homes for our buyers, let alone our agents,” Serhant adds. “So it’s all-out real estate warfare right now, with a lot of pressure on me as CEO to lead us in the right direction.”
Who will be returning to Owning Manhattan Season 2
Before Owning Manhattan, Serhant was in another reality television show called Million Dollar Listing New York, for nine successive seasons until it ended on August 26, 2021.
In the first season of Owning Manhattan, the viewers saw Serhant go on a journey to hunt down the most profitable real estate deals in New York City. He also provided his team, with a level of tasks and opportunities to choose the very best ones, with whom he could run his real estate brokerage SERHANT. However, not everyone is returning for the second season.
Towards the end of season one, we saw Maggie Wu quit SERHANT and join a rival brokerage. Savannah Gowarthy also left the team, and we saw Serhant letting go of Jonathan Nørmølle.
However, the agents who are still working for the team, and we can expect to see them in the second season of Owning Manhattan include Jordan Hunt, Jess Taylor, Jade Shenker, Nile Lundgreen, Jordan March, Jeffrey St. Arromand, Jessica Markowski, Chloe Tucker Caine, Genesis Suero and Tricia Lee.
