The finale of Power Book II: Ghost season 4, titled Ghost in the Machine, was released on Starz on October 4, 2024. The final episode of the series brings the Power universe to a satisfying end, but it also suggests that the story is not over just yet.

In the previous episode, Noma's brutal machinations result in Monet’s death. The murder of their mother naturally prompt the Tejadas to take revenge. In the finale, Noma meets her end at their hands.

Further, the finale of Power Book II: Ghost season 4 also grants closure to some well-established plot and character elements, while it leaves the others open for a potential spin-off. Read on to find out more about the episode’s final moments, and its highlights.

Power Book II: Ghost season 4 finale: Noma is no more

As the finale progresses, the Tejada siblings, in what is one of the rarest moments in Power Book II: Ghost season 4, come together and strategize about how they can kill Noma, who is on the run following Monet’s murder in the shootout orchestrated by her.

Noma meets Anya and tries to convince her to leave the country with her. Anya, however, refuses since she has nothing but disdain for her criminal mother. The Tejadas kidnap Anya when Noma leaves her to arrange for their exit.

Tariq, with the Tejadas’ permission, pretends to rescue Anya. What he actually wants is for Anya to tell him the location of Noma’s safe house. Anya trusts Tariq and divulges the same. Tariq takes Anya to the place.

At this point, Diana takes things into her own hands and shoots Anya. As the others are shocked by this act of sheer cruelty, Diana says that losing a daughter would make Noma feel the pain Diana is feeling, having lost her mother.

After this, the Tejadas ambush the hangar where Noma’s private jet is. Noma, however, arrives with the police, taking them aback. As Dru and Diana pretend to surrender to the police, Cane goes to the back and opens fire, putting a bullet through Noma’s forehead.

This brings the end of Noma. Cane himself takes two bullets. However, with Effie’s help, he recovers a little and leaves the country with some cash.

Power Book II: Ghost season 4 finale gives Carter what he deserves

Detective Carter has been one of the most shrewd characters in Power Book II: Ghost season 4. He has constantly pitted one party against the other, and himself indulged in one crime after the other, using his position to cover them up.

In the previous episode, thanks to Brayden’s timely intervention, he was taken hostage. In the finale, he tells Tariq that if he kills Carter, the video of Tariq killing Zion will be uploaded, ruining his life for good.

However, unbeknownst to Carter, Effie, and Braydon have already searched his apartment for the laptop containing the clip. Though the intended clip is not found, the duo stumbles upon the evidence that proves that Carter was responsible for Kamaal Tate’s murder.

Thus, now, the playing field is level and Carter has no advantage over Tariq. They shake hands and decide on a truce. However, a truce means little for Carter; he does go after Tariq and company. This backfires, however, as the evidence against Carter is handed over to Nico, who arrests him.

As for the Zion-clip, it no longer exists since Dru already erased all that data from Carter’s laptop using a thumb drive. Detective Carter is looking at a long prison sentence for his crimes.

Does the Power Book II: Ghost season 4 finale have a post-credits scene?

The final moments of the episode show Tariq and company thinking about resuming their business with new people tasked with new jobs. Dru decides to leave the business altogether. Diana, however, wants to stay on.

After the credits roll, Tariq gets a phone call. After Tariq remarks that he has not heard from the caller in a while, he says:

“C’mon, we’re family for life. Give me the details, and I’ll be there.”

Thus, it is clear that the caller is a family member, and yet, the character was not seen much in season 4. The caller could be Uncle Tommy, in which case, Tariq’s story is hardly over.
