Michael Scofield played by Wentworth Miller, a brilliant structural engineer, is the main character of the plot. He devises a bold scheme to free his brother Lincoln Burrows who is played by Dominic Purcell from Fox River State Penitentiary.
Due to a false accusation, Lincoln is currently on death row for the murder of the US Vice President's brother. Michael, who is convinced that his brother is innocent, commits a crime to land himself in the same prison. To help them escape, he has hidden clues and the prison's plan tattooed all over his body.
Michael and Lincoln encounter many challenges in the course of the series. It includes other prisoners, prison guards, and an enigmatic group known as "The Company," which is in charge of the plot to frame Lincoln.
The story takes several unexpected turns as they try to avoid being apprehended, clear their names, and discover the real reasons behind The Company's intentions.
