Public Disorder, originally titled A.C.A.B. La Serie, is set to release on January 15, 2025, on Netflix. The Italian action-drama series follows a riot police team in Rome and details their extreme lives. It is adapted from Carlo Bonini's novel ACAB, which inspired the 2012 film ACAB: All Cops Are Bastards.

The narrative focuses on a night of intense clashes in Val di Susa, where a team from Rome's Mobile Unit loses its leader to a serious injury. The new commander, Michele, must navigate the team's internal dynamics and the rising public discontent towards institutions.

Public Disorder explores the world of law enforcement, where personal and professional lives collide under pressure. Featuring a strong cast, the series stars Marco Giallini as Mazinga, Adriano Giannini as Michele, Valentina Bellè as Marta, and Pierluigi Gigante as Salvatore. Directed by Michele Alhaique and created by Filippo Gravino, the show keeps viewers engaged with six episodes.

Produced by ITV Studios subsidiary Cattleya, the series features a score by Mokadelic and visuals by cinematographer Vittorio Omodei Zorini.

1) Marco Giallini as Mazinga

In Public Disorder, Marco Giallini plays Mazinga, a veteran officer in Rome’s riot police unit. Mazinga is a tough character with professional loyalty and depth. His unconventional methods for controlling civil unrest stem from his belief that maintaining order is essential to preserving his grip on power.

His character represents the struggles faced by law enforcement professionals caught in the middle of social tension.

Giallini is an Italian actor whose long career spans many genres. He gained recognition with the film Perfect Strangers (2016), in which he played Rocco. He also starred as Rocco Schiavone in the TV series Rocco Schiavone: Ice Cold Murders (2016–2023), playing a nuanced deputy police chief.

Giallini has won several awards in his career. He received a Nastro d’Argento award for Best Supporting Actor in 2012 for his roles in A Flat for Three and ACAB – All Cops Are Bastards. He was also nominated for David di Donatello awards, including Best Actor for Perfect Strangers (2016) and God Willing (2015).

2) Adriano Giannini as Michele

In Public Disorder, Michele, played by Adriano Giannini, is the newly appointed commander of Rome’s riot police unit. Michele is a reformist advocating for modern policing methods. He struggles to lead a team deeply entrenched in traditional and often aggressive practices. His leadership is put to the test as he faces internal conflicts within the team and increasing public dissatisfaction.

Giannini gained recognition for his role opposite Madonna in the 2002 film Swept Away. He has also appeared in the TV series Missing (2012) and the movie The Consequences of Love (2004).

Throughout his career, Giannini has earned several accolades. In 2010, he won the Silver Ribbon for Best Short Film Director for Il Gioco. In 2015, he received nominations for the Silver Ribbon for Best Supporting Actor for Senza nessuna pietà and La foresta di ghiaccio. In 2024, he was nominated for the David di Donatello Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Adagio.

3) Valentina Bellè as Marta

In Public Disorder, Valentina Bellè plays Marta, a devoted member of Rome's riot police force unit 3. The series trailer opens with an intense close-up of Marta uttering, "Grab the Baton," her face marked by seriousness and focus.

Her high-pressure law enforcement profession takes a toll on her personal life. Marta's methods often clash with those of Michele Nobili in the Roma 3 unit, portrayed by Adriano Giannini.

Valentina Bellè previously portrayed Lucrezia Tornabuoni, the strong-willed matriarch, in Medici: Masters of Florence in 2016. In the film Rainbow: A Private Affair (2017), she played Fulvia, showcasing the range of her acting abilities.

Throughout her career, Bellè has garnered significant recognition for her performances. In 2017, she received the Fabrique du Cinéma Award for Best Actress for her role in Rainbow: A Private Affair.
