The Acolyte episode 6 titled Teach / Corrupt premiered on July 2, 2024, on Disney+, and it featured Osha waking up in Qimir's cave on an unknown planet. Qimir try to get Osha to the Dark Side while also letting her know about his backstory, and it is over here where viewers finally got the reveal that the Sith figure was also a Jedi previously in his life.

In The Acolyte episode 6, Qimir revealed that he had a master and was kicked out of the Jedi order, and now a popular theory has stated that perhaps that master was none other than Vernestra Rwoh.

Given that Vernestra Rwoh has been keeping an extremely close eye on the investigation regarding the Jedi murders, and the fact that the scars on Qimir's back are extremely reminiscent of the lightsaber whip that she carries - it is extremely likely that she might just be his master.

Exploring why Vernestra Rwoh might be Qimir's master in The Acolyte

In The Acolyte, Qimir was eventually revealed as a potion salesman who held a grudge for the Jedi and was aiding Mae in her revenge. However, in episode five, it is disclosed that Qimir is the secret Sith and Mae's master.

After defeating the Jedi on Khofar, he takes an unconscious Osha to his unknown planet. There, Qimir reveals to Osha that he was once a Jedi like her. In episode six, he shares more about his past, showing scars on his back from a betrayal by someone he trusted, which Osha deduces was his master. Interestingly, the scars resemble lashes rather than typical lightsaber wounds.

Further in episode 6, we saw Vernestra Rwoh take a keen interest in the investigation and she decided to travel to Khofar to see exactly what had gone down. There, she was almost about to be attacked by a giant insect on the planet and she used her lightsaber whip to dispatch it off. While this could have just been a normal scene, it's the way that the camera lingers on the whip that showcases that perhaps Rwoh certainly had a part to play in Qimir's life.

Not to mention, throughout the series Vernestra Rwoh has been keeping a very close eye on the situation, and she was taken aback after seeing the carnage that went down on Khofar. Given that she will have a larger role to play in the final two episodes of the series, it is pretty likely that she may have just been Qimir's old master.

What can fans expect from Qimir going forward in The Acolyte?

Given that Qimir so far has been looking for an acolyte of his own, we can expect him to try and corrupt Osha further. Since Osha showcased darkness within her, we can expect Qimir to capitalize on it further and try to make her his new pupil.

On top of that, if the theory of Vernnestra Rwoh being his master is the case, then fans can also expect a confrontation between them in the coming episodes of The Acolyte. However, a confrontation between the two is bound to happen regardless as Rwoh is currently looking into the situation too. However, it remains to be seen exactly why Qimir has the marks on his back and why he left the Jedi order.

You can check out a new episode of The Acolyte when it premieres next week on July 9, 2024, on Disney+.
