SEAL Team premiered in September 2017, and originally aired on CBS for the first four seasons before transitioning to Paramount+ during seasons 5 and 6.

The show is a military drama that follows the officers of the Bravo Team, a subset of DEVGRU (Naval Warfare Special Development Group) as they grapple with threats to America's national security.

The team leader is Master Chief Petty Officer Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz).

Other members of the Bravo Team are Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot), Raymond "Ray" Perry (Neil Brown Jr.), Lisa Davis (Toni Trucks) and Eric Blackburn (Judd Lornand). The series follows the team as they perform rescue operations and neutralize terrorist threats.

Over time, the series also follows their personal lives and professional careers. For instance, Ray Perry gets promoted from a Senior Chief Petty Officer to a rank two Chief Warrant Officer. In season 6, Omar Hamzan (Raffi Barsoumian) joins the team as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, given the nature of their job. At the very start of the series, Jason Hayes was recovering from the death of a teammate, Nate, in a mission gone awry. Tragedy strikes again in season 6, as Clay Spenser meets an untimely end while trying to help a suicidal veteran.

With Clay's loss and DEVGRU getting a new leader named Captain Walch (Dylan Walsh) in SEAL Team season 7, the team need to stick together more than ever even as they deal with a new addition to their team, Special Chief Petty Officer Drew Franklin (Beau Knapp).

What to expect from SEAL Team season 7

No concrete plot details have been shared for SEAL Team season 7, but it has been confirmed that it will be the final season of the show. There were also plans to do a SEAL Team movie only for it to be eventually scrapped.

However, in the Talk4 podcast, cast member Neil Brown Jr. did offer his thoughts on the matter:

"I think what we’ll see on the show is for everything positive, that looks great, that also will come with a cost, to balance."

With the dangerous missions undertaken by the SEAL Team regularly, it's no surprise that the cost of what they must give for their country will continue to be a major theme in the series.

SEAL Team is available for streaming on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada. In India, it's available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
