Severance season 2: First look, teaser, and more 

Severance is a psychological thriller directed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle for Apple TV +. The series premiered on February 18, 2022, with its first season having a total of 9 episodes.

Severance is about Mark, who leads a team of office workers. The memories of these workers have been surgically divided between work and personal lives. The official synopsis of the series reads as—

"Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives; when a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, it begins a journey to discover the truth about their jobs."

Season one starred Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Brit Lower, and Jen Tullock among others. The series got a total of 14 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards and was renewed for a second season in April 2022, seeing its increasing popularity. It has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.7 out of 10 on IMDb.

Season 2 of the show was revealed by Apple TV + on a social media post. In this post, Mark Scout was seen carrying balloons through the hallways, which Apple TV + shared and captioned as— “Your innie has already seen this image.”

Everything we know about Severance season 2

Season 2 of this show has been in production since October 2022. In between, there were creative disputes and dual Hollywood strikes, because of which it took longer than expected. Filming for season 2 of Severance wrapped in April 2024.

During Apple's WWDC 2024 event, Apple released a brief teaser for Silo and Severance. In the first season 2 footage that is revealed, we see Mark returning to work and being welcomed back by his supervisor Seth Milchick. The first footage of Severance also shows Mark waking up in the conference hall.

No released date and cast has been revealed for the second season yet. After seeing various teasers it is sure that every essential actor from the first season will be seen in the second season too. There can be some guest castings as the show is much more popular now. The Lumon industries are expected to show themselves physically in the second season of the series.

The creator of the show Dan Erickson talked about season 2 of the show to various media houses and said—

"In season 2, we're going to be showing all of these people on the outside. Similar to Mark, they each had their own reason for getting this procedure, and they're all at some stage of a healing process for one thing or another..."

He continues—

"Being able to take what Adam did in the first season—with the differentiation between his innie and outie, and how they feel like the same person but with this vastly different lived experience—seeing the other three characters' version of that dichotomy is, I think, the most exciting part."
