Severance season 2 aired its premiere episode, titled Hello, Ms. Cobel, on January 17, 2025, on Apple TV+. Ben Stiller served as the director, with the showrunner Dan Erickson writing the episode.
The premiere focused on the return of Mark, Helly, Irving and Dylan to Lumon Industries after the debacle of the overtime contingency, five months ago. Right away, the group discovers that the company has changed a lot and are forced to contend with the latest developments.
The first episode of Severance season 2 features a host of new characters like the macrodata refiners Mark W, Gwendolyn Y, and Dario R. Another intriguing character is Miss Huang, the newly-recruited deputy manager of Lumon's severed floor.
The official synopsis of Severance season 2, as per Apple TV, reads:
"Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe."
Everything to know about Ms. Huang from Severance season 2
Ms. Huang is seen right after the title sequence in Severance season 2 episode 1. She is the new deputy manager of Lumon's severed floor, making her the supervisor of Mark and his MDR team. Ms. Huang appears as a young child and her presence makes her co-workers quite uncomfortable, with Mark even asking if it's normal to have her working at Lumon.
After Milchick is promoted to the manager's role in the premiere episode, Ms. Huang steps into his previous position. In her middle-management role, she is required to carry out the orders given by Milchick, just as he did for Ms. Cobel. Later on, Ms. Huang reveals that it is her first day at work, which also coincides with Mark's first day back at Lumon in five months.
The mysterious character is played by the American actress Sarah Bock. On January 20, 2025, Sarah spoke to Elle Magazine about her appearance on the psychological thriller series. She mentioned how she wanted fans to feel towards her character, saying:
"My hope is that people have kind of mixed, complex feelings about her. I mean, she’s put there to make things interesting for the Innies and make them have mixed feelings about this person who’s in a position of power, who maybe we’re supposed to not like, but also she’s a kid, so we should protect her."
Lastly, Sarah has been added to the show's main cast list, indicating that her character plays a crucial role in the developments of the second season.

Sarah Bock was 15 when she auditioned for Severance season 2
Currently, Sarah is an 18-year-old college freshman studying drama and psychology at Northwestern University. But she was 15 when she auditioned for the part and had turned 16 by the time she filmed scenes for Severance season 2.
On January 18, 2025, the actress told Variety that her character is "definitely younger" than her real age, but carries herself with an "eerie sense of audacity" so as to be taken seriously by her "much older underlings."
In her Elle Magazine interview, Sarah shared that her character was initially written as more timid and child-like, but it was changed to someone "very guarded and ambitious."
"To me, she’s definitely very guarded and ambitious. I think her lack of showing emotions is a method for maintaining any sort of power or authority she has, and she’s already at a disadvantage for being taken seriously because of her age. But I think, more than anything, she wants to progress in the ranks of the company and make a name for herself."
