Silo season 2 episode 6 dropped on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 20, 2024, bringing yet another episode filled with tension and drama as Juliette Nichols and the Silo citizens' life story continues. After Juliette's life is threatened by an infected wound in the previous episode, she gets a savior, but it comes at a cost.

Meanwhile, chaos and power struggle ran rampant in Silo 18, with Bernard getting desperate to draw Knox, Shirley, and Walker out. He put everyone at the Down Deep in starvation by holding out all supplies. However, Knox and Shirley plan to move the barricades from level 130 to level 120 so they can get to the farms, which were at level 122.

Lukas Kyle continues to work on deciphering Quinn's code as per Bernard's instructions. Like Sims, he will be up for a promotion just before the episode ends, putting his life back at the mines in the past for good.

Knos and Shirley moved the barricades from level 130 to level 120 in Silo season 2 episode 6

Silo season 2 episode 6 kicked off with riots threatening to break out all around Silo 18, especially at the barricades. As part of Bernard's plan to draw out Knox, Shirley, and Walker from supposedly killing Judge Meadows, he put the barricades to prevent all deliveries from getting through. That includes food, leaving the citizens at the Down Deep in near starvation.

Bernard Holland planned to rip the heart out of Mechanical, forcing them to turn on each other. It appeared that he was nearly succeeding when some people at Mechanical shouted for Knox and Shirley to turn themselves in so they and their kids wouldn't go hungry.

However, Walker took a stand and reminded everyone that turning one of their own wasn't how Mechanical works. She brings up how they shouldn't do what Bernard wants from them and to always be united and share their resources. It helped that no one was going to starve, at least for the time being, because rebels from level 122 sent them food down the trash chute as thank you for keeping the lights on. The message they received also included the new mantra, 'Juliette lives.'

While they received new food supplies, Knox and Shirley knew that Bernard would put a stop to the chute access point soon, so they had to make a new plan. They talked about pushing back on the raiders so the barricade, which was placed at level 130, could be brought up to level 120.

So, they armed themselves, with Knox's group going to the barricades at 130. Meanwhile, Shirley was heading a team that went a level up of 130 by cutting through the floor. Knos and Shirley managed to move the barricades from level 130 to level 120.

When Amundsen reported what happened at the barricades to Bernard, the mayor was visibly miffed. What he said next clarified the reason why Knox and Shirley wanted to push the barricades up to level 120. It turns out that the middle part of Silo 18 is where the residential areas and the food production facilities are. The farms, in particular, are on level 122, as Bernard pointed out.

With the barricades now at 120, it means the citizens from the Down Deep now have access to the farms. It means Bernard's plan to starve them to draw Knox, Shirley, and Walker out won't work anymore.

Lucas Kyle becomes Bernard's shadow in Silo season 2 episode 6

While riots and ambushes happen several floors down in Silo season 2 episode 6, Lukas Kyle was at the Up Top, in Bernard's office, trying to decipher Salvador Quinn's letter. He's working for Bernard now and trying to make sense of the gibberish by using an encryption method called the Caesar shift or Caesar cipher.

However, after several iterations, all he was able to decipher were the words "sillo," which Bernard said was a wrong spelling for "silo," and "Allie," which was Quinn's daughter's name. Running out of options, Bernard said that the code must be sophisticated and far beyond Caesar's shift. He said that it must be a code within a code, and to decipher its message, he thinks Lukas had to see the Legacy.

It turns out that to get access to the Legacy, one has to be the mayor's shadow. So, Bernard quickly put Lukas Kyle on oath, making him his shadow. So far, Sims has taken over Mary Meadows' Judge title, while Lukas Kyle takes over Meadows being Bernard's shadow in Silo season 2 episode 6.

It turned out that Solo came for her and nursed her to health with the antibiotics he made himself not too long ago. While all Juliette wanted was to get her suit, Solo had her suit and helmet on hostage. He wanted Juliette to fix the pump to stop the water from rising before he gave her the suit.

Juliette couldn't be bothered to do it and just wanted her suit, so she can go back to Silo 18 and stop the rebellion. However, Solo guilt-tripped her, saying that fixing the pump would be her doing him a favor for saving her life.

Silo season 2 episode 6 teases a traitor at the Deep Down

Early in Silo season 2 episode 6, the Deep Down wasn't only having problems with food shortages because of the barricades stopping them from getting supplies. What little food they had in store, they found that those were spiked by rat poison. After learning all about it, Knox surmised that Bernard has a spy working for him in the Deep Down.

Silo season 2 episode 6 ended without any conclusion as to who spiked the food. That said, as the class divide inside Silo 18 gets bigger, it appears that danger and betrayal are just living among them.
