The story of the Silos continues in Silo season 2 episode 7, which dropped on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 27, 2024. So far, the dystopian sci-fi drama has brought some action-packed sequences, especially as Mechanical fought back against Bernard's machinations. They were successful too—ascending ten floors up to get their hands on the farms to ensure that the Deep Down citizens wouldn't experience hunger.

Meanwhile, Juliette Nichols goes into her "dive" to fulfill Solo's demands so she can get her suit and helmet from him. However, as dangerous as her descent was, even more danger lurked when she came up for air. Solo is nowhere in sight, and based on the splatters of blood and a possible murder weapon left, Juliette thinks Solo might be in danger.

Danger finds Solo and Juliette in Silo season 2 episode 7

The official logline of Silo season 2 episode 7 teased a perilous challenge coming for Juliette Nichols as she was forced to do Solo's bidding. However, the episode closed with the danger befalling Solo.

Silo season 2 episode 7 kicked off with Juliette being forced to go down to restart the generator that would stop the water from rising. However, she had to go eight levels down to reach the generator room, and even worse, she didn't have a proper underwater breathing apparatus to help.

Even with many things that can go wrong in the scenario, Juliette doesn't have any choice if she wants to get her suit and helmet from Solo. With Solo's help, Juliette started her descent into the water, and it appeared that she had the job done. She was able to get the generator up and running, but going back up proved almost impossible. The cable she used to go down was cut off, and the oxygen that helped her breathe wasn't working anymore.

Despite Solo's initial advice to avoid quickly ascending into the water, which he said would make her body crumble, Juliette had no choice but to swim back up as fast as she could. She made it back up, and her next move was to shout at Solo. She thought Solo left her for dead, especially after looking at the state of the gear that was supposedly going to keep her from drowning.

However, further investigation in the vicinity suggested that Solo was in big trouble. Juliette saw an ax and splatters of blood everywhere and along the stairs. It looked like somebody had attacked Solo.

Silo season 2 episode 7 saw Lukas Kyle make moves in deciphering Quinn's code

Back in Silo season 2 episode 6, Bernard had sworn in Lukas Kyle to become his new shadow now that Judge Meadows is dead. It's also his way to give Lukas access to "The Legacy," which is only accessible to select people in the Silo, including the IT shadow.

Early in Silo season 2 episode 7, Bernard brought Lukas to the vault, where he tasked him to continue his mission of figuring out Salvador Quinn's codes. Only this time, Kyle will have access to AI-assisted resources and a library to get the job done quickly. He spent most of his time there to decipher the code and concluded that the letters written in Quinn's message weren't letters but numbers.

Lukas went to Bernard to share his findings, also telling Bernard that the code doesn't lie in the Legacy books like he initially claimed it would. He reckons that Quinn wanted the message solved, and he likely used a book that is accessible in the Silo, probably a book that is 140 years old.

That's when Bernard had an idea that the key to deciphering Quinn's codes lies in the Wizard of Oz book that Judge Meadows previously had. It's now in Bernard's possession, and he passed it down to Lukas in Silo season 2 episode 7.

With the continued divide between the Up Top and the Down Deep, Mechanical wanted to send a message. They shot a canister to the Up Top using gunpowder and a parachute to distribute pamphlets that questioned IT's integrity. The message written in the pamphlets read:

"I.T. lies to us. Mechanical wants THE TRUTH. What happened to Juliette? How did Meadows really die? What is I.T. hiding? Look and see."

Knox and Shirley then proceeded to cut off the power supply in the Silo 18, putting the entire Silo in darkness. Meanwhile, IT, which has its own power source, remained lit. Bernard then quickly went into the IT to shut off its lights, but the damage had already been done as citizens were now curious and questioning, which was the whole point of Mechanical's spectacle.

Meanwhile, somewhere else in the Down Deep, its citizens are zeroing in on one person, Maeve. They found out that she was the one who poisoned the remaining food in the pantry, but she was also the person who warned Knox and Shirley about the poison so that nobody would die. It turned out that Maeve was threatened that if she didn't do it, her mom, who was in Medical Up Top, would be in danger.

Back in Silo 17, no one had seen the inside of Solo's vault. However, Silo season 2 episode 7 revealed that it could be a secret bunkroom and library that the IT shadow, which Solo claimed he was, has access to. When Bernard brought Lukas to the vault, which looked quite similar to the one Solo lives in, it looked more technologically advanced than the rest of the Silo.

There was a bunker for the IT shadow inside, and in another room, there were countless relics, including a model of the solar system on the ceiling. When Lukas inquired about the relics and where they came from, Bernard revealed that they aren't exactly relics but "the whole of human history, knowledge, [and] art." There was also an iPad in there, which Bernard said had every information or resource Lukas would need.
