The story in Snowpiercer is driven by the 1982 novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette and was first adapted as a film in 2013, directed by Bong Joon-hoo. Snowpiercer was first aired on May 17, 2020, on Turner Network Television before it was taken over by American Movie Classics in 2024.

What is Snowpiercer about?

Snowpiercer is set in 2026 and follows and follows the lives of survivors of an environmental disaster done by humans.

The earth had turned into a frozen desert, and the survivors of the destruction after seven years are seen traveling in a train called Snowpiercer that revolves around the world 2.7 times every year.

Snowpiercer is a continuously moving luxury train that is divided on the basis of class. The constant movement of the train generates power and saves the survivors from freezing. The train has 1001 carriages and was created by a weird and quirky billionaire Joseph Wilford.

From the time of the disaster, the people on the train were divided on the basis of social class. They are seen fighting against the unfair social order and the uneven distribution of the limited resources. The show follows the passengers while looking into the conflict of class, social inequality and equal rights of survival.
