What happens in Snowpiercer season 4?
Snowpiercer season 4 picks up where season 3 left off, with the survivors of the Snowpiercer and Big Alice conflict being split into separate groups. Melanie's group remains on the Snowpiercer train, while Andre's group heads for the settlement of New Eden.
The survivors find themselves in conflict with remnants of the International Peacekeeping Forces, who are led by Admiral Anton Milius. Milius's forces first hijack the Snowpiercer train and attack the survivors led by Melanie.
As for New Eden, their survivors are subjected to acts of sabotage and abductions, which culminate in Zarah's death and Liana's kidnapping. When Andre Layton prepares to launch a rescue operation, his colony is approached by an injured Audrey, who warns them of an imminent attack.
As for the survivors led by Melanie, they battle the Peacekeeping forces in a war of attrition, as she tries to rescue the people under her stewardship from Milius's attacks, which he's trying to use as leverage to force a surrender.
Eventually, the Snowpiercer docks at an underground base inside a mountain in Djibouti. There, Melanie meets with a former colleague named Dr. Nima Rosseau, who reveals a plan he's concocted to reverse the ice age.
Using CW-7, they can break up the atmosphere, undo the Freeze, and create more warm spots like the one in New Eden, but to do that, the Snowpiercer will need to travel and disperse the chemical. Melanie agrees to the plan and establishes a truce with Milius.
However, by the end of season 4 episode 2, Audrey's warning makes it clear that Milius still intends to attack the survivors at New Eden. Season 4 episode 3 will pick up where these plot threads leave off, and hopefully give some answers on the International Peacekeeping Forces' true agenda.
