Spartacus: House Of Ashur is a spinoff of the Spartacus series on Starz. A brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming series was released on January 15, 2025. Although no particular release date has been set, the trailer confirmed that the show will premiere on Starz in the fall of 2025.

Spartacus: House Of Ashur is a gladiator drama that will follow the storyline of the former gladiator Ashur, from the original series. What is interesting about this plotline, however, is that Ashur died on Mount Vesuvius in the season finale of Spartacus: Vengeance in 2012. The new spinoff imagines a life for him based on several alternate outcomes.

The description of the new season by Starz that accompanies the teaser reads:

"House of Ashur is a history-bending, erotic, thrilling, roller-coaster experience that builds on everything that made the original Spartacus series a colossal hit."

It continues:

"The series poses the question: what if Ashur (Nick Tarabay), hadn’t died on Mount Vesuvius at the end of "Spartacus: Vengeance?" And what if he had been gifted the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in return for aiding the Romans in killing Spartacus and putting an end to the slave rebellion?"

Spartacus: House Of Ashur is preceded by the original series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which premiered on Starz in 2010. This was followed by Spartacus: Gods of the Arena in 2011, which was a prequel to the events of the 2010 series. Two additional series, Spartacus: Vengeance and Spartacus: War of the Damned were released in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

As mentioned before, Spartacus: House Of Ashur is slated for a fall 2025 release. The first teaser for House of Ashur provides a brief glimpse into what the audience can expect from the show. As evident from the trailer, the show will transport audiences back to the Roman Empire, with gladiator fights being the norm.

This is similar to the tone that was set by the original Spartacus, with gory fights in the arena being a major part of the show. As seen in the trailer, the upcoming season heralds a new era of gladiator fights, with the crowds cheering them on madly.

The short teaser trailer begins with a voiceover declaring to let "them" stand only once, with the crowd loudly chanting for a fight, until Ashur simply says "Begin."
