Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3, titled Very Interesting, As An Astrogation Problem, premiered on Disney+ on December 10, 2024. The episode picks up right from the events of last week's premiere, where, at the end of episode 2, the kids were able to find Jod Na Nawood. Escaping with him, they find themselves battling their way back home.
A lot happens in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3. It gives a possible explanation for why no one knows anything about At Attin. Moreover, it also establishes intrigue about who Jod is and what his character is since not much has been revealed about his past.
So, let's dig deep into what happened in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3.
What happened in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3?
The kids and Jod escape
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3 begins with the parents discovering their children will not be found because they are out of the barrier. This information infuriates the parents, as more questions about At Attin are raised. However, the episode then focuses on Jod escaping with the children. While Wim believes Jod is a Jedi, he never confirms it, leaving Jod's identity a mystery.
However, before escaping, the kids demand that Jod rescue SM-33 as the robot previously helped them. Jod reluctantly agrees and rescues SM-33, but not before the entire pirate fleet is after him. Making it back onto the ship, Jod helps the kids escape from the pirates but doesn't know where At Attin is.
Jod then takes them to a moon where he knows someone who can help them locate At Attin, but he also doesn't fully trust her.
Who is Jod's mysterious friend?
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3 reavels that Jod's friend is Kh'ymm, and she doesn't trust him. She even calls the Republic to arrest him when he arrives on the planet and knows him by the name Crimson Jack, but he doesn't know that yet. He introduces the children to her and Kh'ymm wants to help them. She carries a huge collection of starmaps and more that can help them locate their home.
However, even though she doesn't know where At Attin is, leaving the kids disappointed, she knows it was recorded in myths, poems, and more. She suggests At Attin may have been purposefully hidden from the galaxy, which only raises more questions about its origins and the secrecy behind it.
She then traces the coordinates for the planet by asking the children questions regarding their planet and what they know about it. However, Jod realizes that she is stalling him, and it is revealed that Republic Fighters are closing in on him. After a brief Skirmish, Jod escapes from the place with the coordinates to what's presumably At Attin, and the children follow him.
The children don't trust Jod
Before escaping, KB talks to Kh'ymm, who reveals that she shouldn't trust Jod. She then regroups with Jod and asks him who he is before they can ask, or else they are giving him up to the Republic. Jod reveals that he is not a Jedi and that he is someone like them. The pair then escape the fighter as Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3 ends, and there is no hint to what comes next.
Given that Jod goes by different aliases, such as Silvo and Crimson Jack, it's clear that he has a troubling past and is trying to hide his identity. As for At Attin, it looks like the planet has been shielded from the rest of the galaxy. Even its citizens aren't allowed to go outside the barriers, hinting that there is more to the planet than meets the eye.
Not to mention, Neel repeatedly says their parents' work contributes to the "great work," and no one knows about the great war between the Rebels and the Empire, leaving more questions to be answered.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3 is streaming on Disney+. Episode 4 will be released next Tuesday, December 17, 2024, on Disney+.
