Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6 ending explained: Do the kids escape Lanupa?

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6, titled Zero Friends Again, premiered on Disney+ on December 31, 2024. Being the final piece of Star Wars media for 2024, the episode focuses on the kids trying to escape from Lanupa while Jod Na Nawood is taken in by the pirates for breaking the pirate code of honor.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6 immediately picks up after the events of last week's episode. It also features an escape attempt from the kids who, after facing a bit of drama, successfully make it out of the planet. However, not only that, but it looks like At Attin may need to prepare for a pirate attack as well.

What happened in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6?

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6 begins with Fern and KB having a conflict among themselves. With the kids having escaped Jod and ending up in a landmine, Fern recommends that the group climb up a mountain. However, this frustrates KB as she can't really do that due to her suffering an accident, which limits what she can do.

This causes the group to split up as Fern goes with Neel while KB goes with Wim as they follow a bunch of space crabs believing they will lead them to their ship. KB then reveals that she is angry at Fern. This is because she can't do things that Fern can do due to her accident. However, Wim encourages her to talk it out.

At the same time, KB's machinery, which is keeping her alive, begins malfunctioning as well, but Wim luckily manages to save her.

Jod will lead the pirates to At Attin

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6 also begins with Jod being arrested by the pirates again and taken in for his crimes. After trying to escape from Lanupa with a bit of Captain Rennod's treasure, Jod is picked up right near the Onyx Cinder and is taken in by his previous pirate teammates.

Back on Brutus' ship, Jod is made to go on trial for his crimes against the pirate code and he is sentenced to be shot out into space. However, he appeals for a final word and gives a rousing speech, promising the pirates treasure that they could never even dream of. He promises to take them to At Attin where Captain Rennod's treasure is stored and deliver them to the Old Republic Mint.

So, fans can expect to see At Attin be visited by pirates as they try and get to Rennod's treasure going into the next episode.

How do the kids get out of Lanupa?

Back at Lanupa, Fern and Neel see their ship being towed away to the trash compactor. So, they hop onto the tows and try to save it. At the same time, KB and Wim find themselves battling a giant space crab who is also very hungry. However, Fern and Neel are able to save Wim and KB and the kids sort their differences out with each other and embrace their friendship again.

But their ship is still set to be eaten by the trash compactor. So, the kids hurry to the Onyx Cinder and try fighting their way out of it. They soon realize that the trash compactor is way too powerful for them and they try everything to get out of its jaws in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6. In a last-ditch effort, Fern realizes that the Hull Demolition option is still there.

However, SM-33 had warned them not to press that button, but Fern still goes through with it. With the ship shedding off its outer shell, a brand new outer layer is revealed, allowing them to escape. That's where Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6 ends.

So, it looks like the children have a brand new ship on their hands as well and are finally back on their way to At Attin.
