Fate of Neel in Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew episode 4 explored

No, Neel is not dead at the end of Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew episode 4. Although the dramatic final moments show him collapsing, his friends confirm that he simply fainted from exhaustion and the emotional weight of the events.

Neel’s role in the episode is pivotal as he steps out of his comfort zone, showcasing his courage and empathy, traits that set him apart from the others. His brief collapse marks a moment of emotional release after helping save the group from imminent danger.

What happens at Achrann in Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew episode 4?

The episode begins with the crew landing on At Achrann, a planet that initially appears similar to At Attin but is far from it. At Achrann is shrouded in ash and conflict, embroiled in a long-standing war between two tribes the Troik and the Hattan.

While exploring the planet, the children are cornered by Troik warriors, who hide them from the approaching Hattan forces. This marks the start of their involvement in the local conflict.

The Troik’s leader, General Strix, takes the children to their base and introduces them to their way of life. Unlike the orderly and peaceful At Attin the children long to return to, At Achrann is chaotic, with its people constantly preparing for battle. Neel befriends Hayna, the daughter of General Strix, and the two form a bond despite their differing perspectives on war.

Hayna introduces Neel to the Troik’s powerful weaponry, but Neel’s pacifist beliefs lead to a heartfelt moment where he describes the tranquility of his home planet.

General Strix tests the crew’s abilities by involving them in a raid to retrieve stolen resources from the Hattan. Hayna convinces her father to let her join the mission, and Neel reluctantly follows, showing his growing determination to help his friends and the Troik.

What else happened in Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew episode 4?

The raid against the Hattan takes an unexpected turn when Jod Na Nawood, the children’s mysterious guardian, reappears after an earlier confrontation with the Hattan forces. Jod uses Republic credits to negotiate the release of the Troik’s stolen copies, earning their gratitude.

This gesture raises questions about Jod’s motivations he’s shown to be resourceful and heroic but remains enigmatic, leaving both the crew and viewers unsure of his true intentions. Following the raid, the children are granted access to the Fallen Sanctum, a repository of ancient scrolls that may hold the coordinates to At Attin. However, they discover that At Attin’s map has been destroyed.

To their shock, SM-33, the droid accompanying them, reveals that it was ordered by its previous captain to destroy the coordinates and eliminate anyone searching for the planet. SM-33 turns hostile, attacking the group.

In a moment of bravery, Neel distracts SM-33 long enough for Jod to deactivate the droid, saving everyone. This act of courage solidifies Neel’s growth as a character, and the group celebrates his heroism before he faints from the stress. The episode ends on a bittersweet note, with the children one step closer to finding At Attin but facing new uncertainties about their journey and the dangers that lie ahead.
