Several viewers have been impressed with some of the recent developments in House of the Dragon season 2, and it does not involve the show's main characters or its plot. This time the audiences are hailing praises towards Sunfyre, who, as the masses decree, is the first bilingual dragon in the show.

After the ruthless battle between Aegon, Aemond, and Rhaenys took place in episode 4 of the show while they rode their magnificent dragons, many were quick to point out that while Aemond and Rhaenys conversed with their dragons in High Valyrian, Aegon spoke to Sunfyre in English, sparking debate about its bilingual nature.

"Sunfyre the first billingual dragon is canon!!", wrote one user.
"sunfyre is bilingual. aegon teaches him through experience," wrote another user.
"Sunfyre is young and bilingual," said another user.

Other users jokingly commented on Aegon's inability to speak high Valyrian and said:

"It was easier to teach sunfyre english than teach aegon Valyrian," said one user.
"Aegon forgot to open the Duolingo app on his phone before going off on Sunfyre into war", wrote another user.
"Sunfyre loves his bro so much he learned common for him", wrote another.

Fans impressed with Sunfyre and Aegon speaking in English in House of the Dragon

Fans of House of the Dragon have been thoroughly impressed by the fact that Aegon and his dragon Sunfyre can speak and comprehend English, something that is very interesting considering the rest of the dragons and their dragon riders converse in High Valyrian, which is the norm.

The small observation noted by some of the fans during the recent episode of the show has sparked online discussions, with most baffled by the fact. A user pointed out that Aegon's dragon has adapted itself based on his capabilities.

For the uninitiated, Aegon does not speak High Valyrian, so to speak to his dragon, he can only use English as a language of communication.

What happened in the latest episode of House of the Dragon?

House of the Dragon fans are still trying to recover from the events of the show's previous episode. The battle of Rooks Nest, a build-up to the main civil war, i.e. The Dance of the Dragons, took place in episode 4 of the show on July 7, 2024.

Titled The Red Dragon and the Gold, the battle witnessed Aemond and Rhaenys go to war with their respective dragons at Rooks Nest to claim power over the place. However, Aegon, who is not too happy about all this happening without his knowledge, jumps in and joins the battle with his dragon.

The three fight it off in a deadly battle and at point, it becomes unclear as to who is fighting whom.

While the battle was clearly about the Greens against the Blacks and vice versa, at one point Aemond was seen being vengeful towards his elder brother Aegon for reasons ardent HOD fans are already aware.

However, with that being said, the battle did end up in a huge win for the Greens as Rhaenys and her dragon lay defeated in the pivotal battle.

The next episode of House of the Dragon which will presumably explore the aftermath of the deadly battle will be released on HBO on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
