Sunny episode 7 will be released on August 14, 2024, on Apple TV+. The official synopsis of the upcoming episode, titled There’s Been a Shift, reads:
“Mixxy is sucker-punched by the realities of her friendship with Suzie. Himé confronts Jin.”
In the last episode of Sunny, Suzie finally meets Hime. The ensuing conversation between the two is highly hostile, with Suzie tied up and Hime threatening her to break into Masa's computer by guessing the correct password. The final scene of the episode shows Sunny back with Mixxy and Suzie.
However, the titular homebot appears to be seriously damaged. In fact, it collapses the moment it enters the house. The plot of this Apple TV and A24 series has become only more complicated with each coming episode, and Sunny episode 7 might be no different.

What to expect from Sunny episode 7?
The tense and at times violent exchange between Suzie and Hime is the highlight of episode 6. The conversation clarifies some speculations the viewers may have made about Hime and Masa.
For instance, it is now firmly established that Hime was well acquainted with Masa’s work. In fact, from Hime’s dialogues, one might infer that the two may have been close. At the very least, Hime entirely knew about Masa’s work while his wife of many years, Suzie, did not.
Hime uses this fact to frustrate Suzie. Relationships have been a prominent theme in the series so far, and that between Suzie and Masa has been shown in different lights across the episodes. This episode solidifies what was shown in episode 5 as well — the marriage between Masa and Suzie had their fair share of low points.
Sunny episode 7 might continue to show more facets of Suzie and Masa’s marriage through flashbacks or exposition of key information. Further, the upcoming episode, as the synopsis suggests, will also shed some light on the relationship between Suzie and Mixxy.
In episode 5, Mixxy and Sunny were seen implicitly fighting with each other for Suzie’s undivided attention. With Sunny back in the picture after a brief period of abduction, the relationship dynamics between the three might undergo another strenuous phase.

In episode 6, Noriko gets herself arrested. She later tells Suzie that she has done it to be able to play shogi with her friends, who are in the same prison as well. The next episode might throw some light on Noriko’s actual motive, should she have one.
