Netflix original Supacell dropped all its six episodes on June 28, 2024. Audiences have been left anxious anticipating whether Michael Lasaki (played by Tosin Cole) would be able to prevent the foretold death of his fiancee Dionne Ofori (played by Adelayo Adedayo).

In the final battle, the series' villain, Krazy (played by Ghetts), steals Rodney's super speed, allowing him to kill the entire team. The scene is set up for Michael to save the day, as he proves that he can turn back time and prevent Krazy from killing the entire group. Before he could even steal Rodney's powers, Michael stabbed Krazy to death (almost, because he will recover in the end before someone else kills him).

Not one to die without doing anything, Krazy fired a few random shots. While he missed all the Supacell superheroes, one stray bullet hit killed Dionne. And because she had no superpowers like the rest of the gang, her fate, which was clear from the beginning of the series, came true.

While Dionne's death has been foretold early on, viewers have been exasperated with what they think are discrepancies around Dionne's demise. One theory, in particular, pointed out that one of the superhumans, Rodney, could have saved Dionne.

Supacell theory suggests Rodney's super-speed powers could have saved Dionne in two ways

As per Reddit user @Narrow_Video6681, there are many issues and holes in the plot line, especially around Dionne's death in the Supacell ending.

The theory hinges on two things: Dionne being saved from the bullet or quickly brought to the hospital after being hit. Any of these two events could have saved the woman from drying.

First, Rodney could have used his powers to stop the bullet from hitting Dionne, causing her death. With his super speed, it would have been easy enough for him to do too.

When Krazy started firing shots, he could have speeded through the process and ensured that none of those bullets would hit anybody, especially Dionne, who was supposedly destined to die.

However, in case he wasn't able to stop the stray bullet from hitting and injuring Dionne, his super-speed powers could have still helped the woman get medical help quickly. When Dionne was shot, Rodney was simply standing there like he couldn't do anything to help, which doesn't make sense for viewers.

Again, his super speed would have allowed him to bring Dionne to the hospital in a second if not two. She could have had her wound tended to in the hospital instead of bleeding to death.

Final thoughts

This was an interesting theory from someone who has watched the new Netflix series Supacell. While these events could have taken place and make sense, the series finale had already killed off Dionne's character.

That said, there's another theory that the Reddit user pointed out — Michael eventually saves Dionne by going back in time, again. While he used all his powers to go back in time travel the first time to save his comrades, he could once again do so after getting his energy back.

If that's the case, it could have been a possible plot Supacell season 2 could explore, if it's renewed. Currently, the new Netflix show hasn't been canceled or renewed, so fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement.
