Recap of Superman & Lois season 4 episode 3

In Superman & Lois season 4 episode 3, Jonathan Kent finally received his powers after he went through the traumatic event of losing his father and lashed out at his brother when he failed to save him. With Jonathan now having all his powers, he went to the DOD with Lois where Sam Lane was going to train him, but the General also had plans of his own.

With Superman gone now, Sam brought in John Henry Irons and Natalie Irons to help, while also ordering a vial of Superman's blood that was kept for times like these. However, when he was threatened by Lex Luthor to give up his daughter's location, Sam refused to do so and was shot by one of his goons. He then used Superman's blood on himself.

At the same time, Lex sent Doomsday to the DOD headquarters as well to threaten Sam once more, but he refused to do so which led to Doomsday killing him. But that was apparently a part of his plan as John then flew him off to the Fortress of Solitude where he asked Lara to transfer Sam's heart into Superman's as it was pumping with Kryptonian blood.

A grief-stricken Lois was then informed of Sam's plan. While he was originally trying to find a donor, he ultimately decided to use the blood on himself when he was shot. However, it seems that his plan does end up working as Superman wakes up from his death at the end of the episode.

What to expect from Superman & Lois season 4 episode 4?

Going forward in episode 4, fans can certainly expect to see Tyler Hoechlin return in a major way in the show. Given that he took a backseat in the first 3 episodes of this season, he will definitely be back in a huge role. However, given that in the comics, Superman doesn't return with his full powers, fans shouldn't expect the Man of Steel to be at his top form here.

Aside from that, fans should also expect to see him react to Jonathan getting his powers now. Given that both of his sons have received their powers, it will certainly come as a shock to him. Alongside that, fans can also expect to see Lex Luthor continue to torment the Kent family as he still isn't done getting revenge on them.
