If viewers thought the Halloween episode of the show was dramatic, they were not prepared for Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6.The Thanksgiving-focused episode, released on Wednesday, October 3, saw some major changes in the show's narrative, including Lucy and Leo's breakup.
Those who have been keeping up with Lucy and Leo's budding romance since its commencement this season are aware of the hurdles the two had to cross to be with each other. This included Leo's anger issues stemming from his toxic family history and Lucy's trust issues resulting from her previous toxic relationship with Stephen.
Therefore, when the two finally got together, putting their pasts behind them, fans of the show were hopeful that they were in for the long haul. However, with the release of Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6, the fans' expectations concerning the new couple were shattered.

Lucy and Leo are broken up in Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6
If the audience had to choose between Lucy and Leo's relationship and Bree and Oliver's this season, their bets would most definitely have been on the former. This is because their relationship was healthier, and despite their respective flaws, they were willing to work through their shortcomings to make their relationship work.
However, the future that the audiences anticipated for Lucy and Leo did not exactly go as planned and it was once again because of Stephen, who could not stop obsessing over Lucy despite them being broken up long ago.
In Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6, Stephen was seen continually trying to instigate Lucy by bringing up the topic of Leo's ex. When Leo understood Stephen's intentions of manipulating Lucy and cornering him, he revealed to Lucy that Stephen was the person who led him and her former girlfriend Becca to break up by sleeping with her.
The information, which was new to Lucy, made her think that Leo was with her just to seek revenge on Stephen. She tried confirming the same with Leo who was completely agitated with the question since his feelings towards Lucy were genuine.
To make matters worse, Stephen revealed the toxicity Lucy exhibited in their former relationship in front of Leo, which repulsed him to an extent. This was followed by Lucy slapping Diana which urged Leo to leave Evan's house where all the Baird College goers and their better halves were congregated for Thanksgiving.
Lucy followed Leo outside and the two engaged in a heated argument that eventually resulted in their break up. They realized that both of them had problematic pasts that they had to deal with and it was in the best of their interests that they deal with them separately.
Evan learns about Bree's romance with Oliver in Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6
Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6 was not only eventful for Stephen, Lucy, and Leo but also for Bree and Evan. It is obvious that Evan still has feelings for Bree despite them being broken up, and he makes no effort to hide that.
Evan's intention for calling everyone over to his place on Thanksgiving was more driven by an agenda of getting to see Bree again and hopefully rekindling things between them than actually having a good time with his friends.
Towards the end of Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 6, Evan got the chance to have a conversation with Bree after Molly revealed that she was seeing someone. He asked her about the same, to which she replied in the affirmative.
Although Bree did not reveal the identity of the person she was with, she revealed that he was 45 years old, which shocked Evan. Since Bree was hardly 20 years old, Evan thought that it was unnatural for her to be with someone that old.
He also alleged that Bree's attraction towards an older man emerged from her unresolved trauma from having had an unhealthy relationship with her father.
The next episode of Tell Me Lies season 2 is scheduled for release on October 9, 2024.
