Marking the second-best launch for a new series from Latin America, The Accident became an overnight sensation, gaining 10.4 million CVEs within the first week of its debut on Netflix. While the series didn’t receive any positive remarks on review aggregators like Rotten Tomatoes, having accumulated a 33% score on the platform, the show had a praiseworthy launch on the streamer.
The Accident was released on Netflix on August 21, 2024, with 10 episodes, each having a runtime of 40-51 minutes. One of the reasons that has made the series a binge-worthy and immersive watch is the melodiously curated soundtrack, which perfectly blends with the emotional highs and dramatic twists of the narrative.

Plot summary
Netflix’s The Accident (español: Accidente) follows the tragic aftermath of a dreadful incident during a birthday party for Rodrigo, the son of Emiliano and Daniela. Due to a gust of wind causing an inflatable bouncing castle to fly away, the children who were playing within the structure lost their lives.
This incident sets off a chain of blame and guilt among the parents. While Emiliano gets blamed for being caught up on a business call and faces an accusation of negligence, Moncho gets scrutinized for being intoxicated during the event.
Meanwhile, Charro and Brenda, parents of one of the victims, walk down the path of revenge, hoping to find the person responsible for this incident. Set in the town of Santa Cruz, this 10-episode Mexican thriller blends crime, emotional turmoil and secrets.
Keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats with the characters grappling with their own moral dilemmas, the show's engaging narrative and layered subplots create a gripping atmosphere that intensifies with each episode.
