Star Wars fans are losing it over the appearance of an anticipated character in the franchise in the final episode of The Acolyte. In a brief moment from the concluding episode, the infamous Sith Lord, Darth Plagueis the Wise, known for deriving his powers from the Dark Side of the Force, makes a significant appearance, stirring things up in the show's universe.
This is the first time the character has appeared in a live-action project, making the event even more monumental. Before The Acolyte, the Dark Sith Lord was only mentioned onscreen in the 2005 film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. For the uninitiated, the title was the third and final entry in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

In the first half of the episode, Amandla Stenberg's Osha and Manny Jacinto's Qimir can be seen having a conversation regarding their arrangements concerning their adventures to an unknown planet to find Sol and Mae.
As the duo leave, the audiences are introduced to an alien-like figure lurking in the corners in the shadows of one of the planet's crypts. Although the episode does not explicitly mention the character's identity, ardent Star Wars fans quickly identified that the character was Darth Plagueis the Wise.
About Darth Plagueis the Wise
Darth Plaguies the Wise is a Force-sensitive Muun Dark Lord of the Sith order and the Sith Master of Darth Sidious and Sheev Palpatine. For most of Plagueis's life, he wanted to acquire immortality and went to extreme lengths to acquire it. He extensively studied science and bioengineering as he thought they would be able to grant him answers to questions regarding immortality.
Although he worked closely with his apprentice, Darth Sidious, during the process, he was later backstabbed and murdered by him in accordance with the Rule of Two. Sidious later took on Plaguies's role as Sith master and used his findings to cheat death via cloning.
Perhaps the best description of Darth Plagueis the Wise's powers is given by Sheev Palpatine, who defines him in the following manner:
"Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying."
