The fourth episode of The Acolyte, titled Day, premiered today June 19, 2024, on Disney+, and it featured Mae going after Jedi Master Kelnacca who lived in solitude in the Jungle of Khofar. However, she wasn't alone in the jungle as she was being chased by Jedi Master Sol as well who was leading a team to arrest her alongside Osha.

A lot went down in the fourth episode of The Acolyte, which was short but packed to the brim with character development. From Mae leaving Qimir to surrender to the Jedi and deciding not to kill Kelnacca to the Sith finally revealing itself to Sol, it was an episode packed with developments. However, ending on a cliffhanger, it just left enough of a tease that will make us want to tune back in when the series returns next week.

With what went down, it certainly seems like the Jedi are going to face a horror the likes of which they haven't come across in a long time.

What happens in The Acolyte episode 4?

Osha temporarily rejoins the Jedi

In The Acolyte episode 4, Sol decides to lead a party to arrest Mae as he and Vernestra Rwoh believe that her master possesses a dark presence. While they debate on how they would be able to get Mae on their side, Sol believes that if Osha would join them on the mission, it would make things easier for them.

After Sol has a conversation with her, Osha decides to join the Jedi temporarily to get back her sister. However, for this, Osha would have to face her past which she hasn't been able to let go of. On Khofar, where Mae is, Osha also starts feeling an attachment to the Force once more and reveals to Jecki that she wasn't fit to be a Jedi because she couldn't ultimately let go of her past. However, Jeckei reassured her saying that her past (Mae) doesn't define her, but what survived does.

Mae decided to not kill Kelnacca in The Acolyte episode 4

Now knowing that Osha is alive, Mae decides to not go forward with killing Jedi Master Kelnacca, and rather align herself with her twin sister. This change of heart comes as all this time she had wondered that Osha was dead, but her being alive changed everything for her. Ditching Qimir and deciding to ditch her Sith Master too, Mae decides to surrender herself to Kelnacca and the Jedi.

But when she seeks out Kelnacca, it is revealed that the Wookie Jedi Master has already been killed as there is a lightsaber slash on his chest. A worried Mae then quickly realized that her master was on Khofar, but before she could act on anything, the Jedi intercepted her outside of Kelnacca's place.

At the same time, a mysterious figure landed near Kelnacca's house and approached Osha showing off their red lightsaber. The Jedi took notice of this and whipped out their lightsabers too, and when they went to attack the mysterious figure, it used the Force to push everyone back and the episode ended there.

What to expect from The Acolyte episode 5?

With the hooded figure now making its presence known, the Jedi have finally come face to face with a Sith master. The Acolyte Episode 4 ended on a cliffhanger teasing a battle to come between the Jedi forces and the Sith figure, and we can surely expect that the fifth episode can pick up from where the latest outing ended. However, it still remains to be seen who the Sith figure is.

There is also the question of how Mae met the Sith figure and exactly what mission she was carrying out for him. While we know that Mae's mission to kill the Jedi was born out of revenge, we can also expect to see exactly what led to her meeting the mysterious person in future episodes and how the now-broken partnership came about at the time.

On the other hand, we might also get to see a bit of Mae and Osha's past again too, because as of now it is unclear how Mae survived her fall on Brendok as well. But for now, it certainly looks like the Jedis have their hand full with the Sith problem, and given the cliffhanger, fans are surely clamoring to see what's going to happen next.
