The Acolyte episode 5 ending explained: Who is the Sith? Details explored

The Acolyte premiered its fifth episode titled Night on June 25, 2024, on Disney+. The last week's episode featured the Jedi getting a jump on Mae and then coming face-to-face with the mysterious Sith being. This week's outing, while a bit short, picked up from that point and saw Master Sol take on the Dark force as the Jedi around him started dropping like flies.

In The Acolyte episode 5, viewers finally got to know about Sith's identity. Qimir, the man who was seemingly helping Mae in her revenge mission against the Jedi, revealed himself to be a Sith. The episode also saw many huge deaths take place, as well as a reunion between Osha and Mae.

The episode also ended on a note that will certainly have many fans intrigued to see where the show goes next, and it certainly looks like the Jedi have a tough few days ahead of them.

Qimir reveals himself to be the Sith in The Acolyte episode 5

Episode 5 of The Acolyte saw the Jedi fighting the Sith being and them being unsuccessful in matching his power. The Sith dispelled off many Jedi easily but met his match when he was brought face-to-face with Master Sol. However, after a brief encounter, the Sith focused on Mae and rushed to her location. There he was met with Jecki, who had apprehended Mae, and she gave him a tough battle as well.

At the same time, Yorde was escorting Osha off to safety, but she realized that she had to go back so that she could help her friends. Unfortunately, she was too late as Jecki died at the hands of the Sith, and it was revealed that it was Qimir behind that mask.

Yorde then started battling him, but Qimir killed him easily which sent Master Sol into a fit of anger. Sol laid a beat down on Qimir, but was stopped by Osha before he could land the final blow as it would go against the Jedi code.

Qimir taunted that Sol had some darkness within him as well, but Osha set the bugs of Khofar on him that allowed her and Sol to escape. She then asked Sol what he meant by it, but before they could talk, Mae hit him with a stun gun that made him go unconscious.

Osha and Mae reunite in The Acolyte episode 5

Osha and Mae also finally reunited after the showdown in Khofar. The two sisters embraced each other after all thess years, and shared a hug. However, that embrace quickly turned into hate once more as the sisters started arguing about the fire that Mae caused in Brendok years back. Mae believed that the Jedi stole Osha from her, while her twin considered her sister a criminal.

In frustration, Mae then used the Force to push back Osha which left her unconscious. Mae put on Osha's clothes, and seeked out Sol. Assuming the identity of Osha, she sneeked onto Sol's ship and it looked like she was on her way to Coruscant. On the other hand, Qimir discovered Osha's body in the morning, and that's where the episode ended.

What can fans expect next week?

Given that Mae is now on Sol's ship and making her way to Coruscant, viewers can certainly expect her to have nefarious plans of her own. Considering that she holds the Jedi responsible for taking away her sister and invading their home, whatever she has planned can't be good for the Jedi. Fans can also expect Jedi to act on Qimir, who revealed himself as a Sith.

With Osha, one can expect her to have some kind of interaction with Qimir, but knowing that she didn't approve of what her sister planned with him, it'll be one complicated conversation for her. There is also Sol's secret that Qimir mentioned about that viewers can expect to see going forward in The Acolyte.
